The thing is, is Auberich too old, I wasn't sure how the Sidhe royalty worked, as in do they have a succession of royals or can one live on indefinitely?

Maybe...their ages aren't that far apart. But Egg's got a terrible temper. :)

I don't know, I imagine Esteri being so bubbly and happy that it would be hard to stay mad at her.

So let's see if this works, Auberich had a daughter with a previous Queen or Sidhe noble, who is either dead or still alive but unable to perform her queenly duties, or was voted down in favour of the new queen, who, in order to maintain solidarity is bound to the king by a symbolic marriage. Newly pregnant with his child, the King now has two children.

Just to let you know, the king and queen don't have to be married. So, while your story works, don't feel constricted by that "rule".
