What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Fiction, Published not super long ago. The book is about a young girl living in this facility to house monsters and she goes out and catches them. She has a pink taser and is friends with a mermaid in the facility who is her best friend. A boy of unknown species who turns invisible is caught and stores in a special area in the facility. The girl is curious about him and asks to visit him frequently. Good monsters also guard the facility inside. The facility is attacked at some point.

Paranormalcy?

This sounds like it could be a plot of an episode of the TV show Sanctuary! (It isn't, but I'm entertained by the similarity.)

I've never seen that show, but if it's kind of like the books, it must be good. And thank you, that's the title!
