Book centers around Marco Polo and his journey. Possible plague and glowing milky seas north of Australia. The Guild is back and in play with an Egyptian obelisk from Venice with ancient markings also found in the tower of winds at the Vatican.

another character dreged up from a previous book: Joe Kowalski from Ice Hunt. Couple this with Lisa Cummings and then in a future book where Jack Kirkland reappears.

Again no maps: A different approach in this book where 1/2 of Sigma is globetrotting while the other is stationary. Washington DC, Istanbul, Hormuz, Siem Reap-Cambodia etc
