Appearance:
Darren's hair is a black, tousled mess most days. Not because he doesn't brush it, but because it refuses to cooperate with him unless he uses strong gel to help tame the curls. His raven hair contrasts frighteningly with his pale skin. He never really gets much sun since he spends most of his time indoors, reading or whatnot, rather than running around outside. Because of this he really doesn't have a muscular physique. He isn't overweight though either since reading ranks higher than food. Some days he may forget to eat if he is really engrossed in studying. If anything, he is rather thin and lanky. His eyes range from a soft, baby blue to a bright, electric blue depending on the lighting. He stands at around 6'6" and he's not unattractive, but he's also not hotty-lamatie-with-the -swimmer's-body.
Personality: Darren can be surprisingly sweet when he isn't trying to maintain his bad-boy gangster-type image. He shies away from trouble and fights, figuring he had nothing to gain from witnessing such petty squabbles. While he can be rather prideful, he has a softness to him that not too many have the pleasure of witnessing. He is kind to creatures in need, but stand-offish to just about everyone around him, Slytherin or not. He gets a lot of respect from his peers because of his incredible wand skills and his heritage (as a pure-blood).
Darren can be rather cowardly in the sense that he doesn't let himself begin relationships that could potentially put his reputation or studies in jeopardy. This goes along with his ambitious nature because he does a lot to get what he wants, whether that be getting some of the highest grades in his class or saving creatures from his cruel house-mates.
Background: Darren grew up as an adopted child to a half-blood couple. His biological, pure-blood parents had died when Darren was only two years old. They had been pure-blood elitists that hated muggles and wanted to kill many of them. Darren, fortunately, was too young to have these values impressed upon him. So the decision was made to put him in the care of a lovely half-blood couple. The woman ran a small flower shop on a street corner in London and the man worked at the Ministry. They raised him well, and Darren did consider them family, but he still held onto the one thing he could share with his biological parents even in death-Slytherin House. When he went to Hogwarts for the first time, he spoke to no one and kept to his own cart on the train. He was determined to be in Slytherin House. The wand he has now used to be his biological father's and he was allowed to have it once he was old enough to start practicing magic, though the Ministry were hesitant to give it to him since it was once held by a dark wizard.

-Avery would be Darren's last name, but when he was adopted. Because of this, his last name was also changed.
-Darren doesn't like sweet things such as candies or cakes or anything with sugar.
- He is a horrible athlete.
- He is afraid of heights quite honestly.
- Darren excels in Care of Magical Creatures as well as Potions, Transfiguration, and other academics.
- He is a very good student and studies a lot.
- He is a very tough duel opponent and can be intimidating if you don't know him.
-Darren is in Slytherin because his parents were in Slytherin, so he had a strong inclination to be in that house. In addition to this, although he is the gentle type of guy, Darren is very clever and smart. He is determined to accomplish his goals, though they might not be as dark as some might think.
