I wanted to give you all a perk for being in this group. The cover for book two in my new series hasn't been released yet. It actually won't be released until after August 15th, so you all get a sneak peek. Here it is! Please let me know what you think.

Lol. That totally makes sense. I actually wasn't sure if I should reveal this one, but I had to share with someone.

I'm so happy to hear that you love it!

Thanks Shemelle! I'm honored. And so happy you like. It's fun to finally share and get this awesome feedback. She's a real rebel for sure. :)

Katy H (the_other_katy) | 66 comments I'm going a bit crazy because my sweet, wonderful dad had a birthday this month and got a DVD box set of Boston Legal (which we all love.) So between that and him renting all the movies he knows I want to see I've been fairly glued to the TV! I don't get to read as much as I want to! If only I could read as fast as Reid from Criminal Minds...*sigh*

[random sidenote: I LOVE horses but not rodeos, races, etc. I always expect palominos to have spots/splotches for some reason. I must be getting confused (gasp) My aunt had a horse years ago. His name was Ky but I was always too little to ride him alone. =( He was very large, gorgeous, and a beautiful brown with a reddish mane to the best of my recollection. My dad looked really cool riding him. He was a spectacular animal!]

There are many demands on our time and attention these days. I completely understand. I'm writing right now and therefore not reading at all. I always feel like I'm missing something during those times though. Great shows.

I love your side notes. Always so interesting. I agree about rodeos. I grew up in Texas and they were everywhere. To each their own though. I feel the same way about circuses with animals, that's the reason there's no animals in my new series about the circus.

Sounds like a beautiful animal. Now I really want to go ride a horse. :)

I watch entirely too much TV and feel like I'm missing out on reading! The grass is always greener, right?

I grew up in Texas too! (view spoiler) I'm glad to know that about your newest series! (Also: NEW SERIES?! *sqeals*) Of course, I'm still stuck here. It's not so bad - especially since I'm in Central/the Heart of Texas. Just kind of hot, but I don't get out much anyway and this house is actually kept uncomfortably cool in my opinion. I doubt Texas has can hold a candle to S.A. heat-wise though!

Haha, well I'm glad someone likes my little digressions! I've always wanted to ride a horse again too but I don't own one, am not exactly graceful (or even capable of walking like a normal human being. I get dizzy a lot). I'm honestly quite worried I might injure the poor horse. =| Oh well, at least I got to ride one before!

Katy, I didn't know you were in Texas. I knew David grew up in El Paso, which was like a different state from me. I grew up way on the other side of the state in East Texas. And I went to college in Dallas. Now I'm on the west coast, although I never forgot my roots.

I feel the same nervousness as you about riding a horse. It sounds good in theory. I'd rather just contemplate the notion, rather than do it.

Katy H (the_other_katy) | 66 comments Yep, I'm "Deep in the Heart O' Texas" (about an hour North of Austin). It's also, pretty much, a different state from East Texas though I've driven out to Terrell a few times and I've been to Dallas several times for doctor's appointments. *FUN* I saw a movie last year sometime (I think it was called Bernie) in which someone said that Texas is really like 5 different states: North, West, South, East, & Central. I know you're in SoCal now. It seems like most people leave Texas, if they can and I can't blame them! Even my sister moved to Ohio as soon as she graduated college. I would've left too were if not for my health problems. I think I'd much prefer California or Hawai'i over Ohio except for the fact that I have a lot of family in Ohio.

As far as riding horses goes, my doctors would never okay it with my osteoporosis. Also, I feel (ridiculously, but still) as though I weigh too much to ride a horse without being harmful to the animal. I think I really just don't want to make any animal carry me unless I absolutely cannot make my way on my own.

I'd agree that Texas is like five different states. I feel the same way about California. I'm actually in Central California now. I'm kind of a nomad. I go wherever the wind blows me.

Hawaii would be fantastic, although my hair would never be calm again. :)

Michelle | 18 comments Love it! I'm drawn in right away at the font and then the detail in the horse is awesome! Looks like a painting I'd hang up!

Thanks Michelle! That's excellent feedback. And you can't know how relieved I am to hear that. That horse was a pain to work with, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Yay! :)

I can only imagine the process that goes into designing and then creating a cover design. I'm glad it turned out!

Yay! That's such wonderful feedback. Especially because I'm about to start the third cover and sooooo nervous. It's fun and also nerve wracking.

It is a bit of a spoiler from first book, but I figured covers need to be intriguing. However, that's why I haven't revealed this cover yet. I will in a few days. You all got the exclusive. Oh and I just finished Warriors cover (book three) yesterday. I think we need to have a secret reveal for that one too. What do you all think?

Dominic | 252 comments Mod
That would be awesome! Thanks so much!
