Ship of Theseus (S. by Dorst & Abrams) discussion

I ordered two copies for friends in mid-December from Amazon. It was showing out-of-stock at that time, but I figured they would have a new shipment eventually. It is now the start of February and they have notified me they still can't procure any copies.

Are other people having the same trouble? I've heard they are planning a second printing, but I am curious if anyone else is having difficulty finding S in stores right now.

I have noticed that every bookstore I visit happens to be completely out - for the last month.

I just received an update from Amazon that my order on S is about to be shipped! I wonder if this is the second printing?

I recieved my copy of S. on Thursday last week, from Amazon UK, I live in Denmark, so it was two or three days underway... How can I tell if it is the second printing though? :-/ I ordered the book on January 5th, while they were out of stock...

The copies I ordered for friends are on their way now so I guess Amazon is restocked now.

I hope you enjoy the book. I am slowly making my way through it. I wish I had more free time to read...

Thank you so much :-) I have just taken out all of the appendices, I guess you could call them? And put in post-it notes where they were, and on them, so I can find them again :-D

I am slightly scared to begin reading, though, because I have built up my expectations so much already, waiting for this book for so long... <3 I will start though, because I AM excited to read it....

I am on Chapter 7. I just don't get a lot of free time to read and I don't like to rush - especially with a book like this. I hope your expectations haven't been elevated that it disappoints you. It is quite a unique reading experience though.

The good thing is I don't think you must decipher the codes to enjoy the story.

Is it me, or is this group not very active? :-/ Or is everyone participating on Brian Shipman's wordpress blog? :-) I get an e-mail whenever he posts a new entry :-) It has been very interesting reading so far, and I will be looking back to the beginning of his posts, if I am able to navigate around the site without getting too distracted :-D
