Read Scotland 2014 discussion

This proved to be a mixed bag for me. On the positive side is the author's skill in writing effortless, noirish description. On the negative side, I felt the plot meandered until it was time to end and then it just ended. And main character Laidlaw was much to much of a cranky cipher (his partner Harkness was actually more interesting). Still and all though I do plan on reading the other two of the series.
