Penny Dreadful Digital Book Club discussion

Mary Shelley’s brilliant 1818 tale is one of psychology and philosophy. It insistently returns to a central theme: who is the monster, Dr. Frankenstein or his Creation? The two characters circle each other inexorably, tighter and tighter, to the book’s tragic conclusion. Both characters are isolated, lonely, seeking and wildly verbal.

I am about 40% through this classic, so from that preliminary viewpoint, it is easy to point to Victor Frankenstein. He is filled with guilt and remorse upon completing his creation, but I find his repulsion interesting as it is due to the ugliness of his creation, not a morality decision. I can't wait to read more!
