This is a great discussion group, everyone!I know some people find it hard to commit to reading a complete book a month, every month. But if you have limited reading time and still want to engage in literary discussions with others, I recommend this particular group. We typically read 2 short stories a month, usually 20-30 pages in all. And the discussions are always interesting.
Check it out!
Thanks, Dave, for your comments!
We had another interesting discussion last night discussing these two fascinating stories from authors we otherwise would not have read. The Albahari story was a metafictional piece of how a story is created in the mind of a writer or at least that's how most of us had read it, evoking Beckett, Barth or even Carver.
The Kristufek story was a farcical piece about the absurdity surrounding a political summit at a provincial town. It was quite an entertaining read and evoked for me TC Boyle, another satirist.
