The Transatlantic Book Club discussion

My perspective on this may be a bit warped, it's been a miserable January with regards to work and wading through some really awful writing--this was pretty much the only recreational reading I was able to make time for, and I loved it. Toni Morrison never does anything badly, that I've read, at any rate, but this is my favourite so far with the exception of Beloved. She has the same ability as Joyce Carol Oates to write about the most horrible things in the most oddly lyrical, graceful way. Does anyone else have any reactions to or opinions of the novel to share?
