My thoughts after this section:
I loved this story! It wasn't just about romance but also about finding yourself and long lost family.
I am a little upset that Caymen's dad didn't make ANY appearance whatsoever because I was really banking on that SUV guy being there because of her dad.
I am SO glad that she met her grandparents finally.

My questions after the book:
1. Were you upset with her mom after finding out that her mom took an extreme route and never mentioned who her grandparents were?
2. Were you upset with Xander after the benefit? Or did you give him the benefit of the doubt?
3. What are your thoughts on the ending?
4. Are you wanting a "sequel" of some sort dealing with how things go after this? Like, where do Xander and Caymen stand when going to College? Or maybe a book about Caymen on a journey to find her father? Or is this just me?
5. Overall, what did you think? Were you happy this was one of the books this month?

For some reason I never thought the SUV guy had anything to do with her father but I wish the story did go further into that storyline. I like that we see what happens with her granparents but I would love to see what a first meeting with her father looks like.

Glad I wasn't the only one who was hoping to see something with that story line! I honestly would love to see a companion/sequel for this to see more! :) I'd even be happy with a short story or a novella...

1. Not really. Honestly, I could actually care less. I mean, she obviously did these things for a reason. If the book was from her POV, we'd see how she felt bad for not letting her daughter see her parents, but we'd also see what she went through. Her parents disowned her. Maybe she was punishing her parents, or maybe she didn't want Caymen to go through what she did (get close to them and then lose them).2. I kind of did a double take, like: What? I didn't see that coming. I was super worried by this point. I actually thought they wouldn't end up together for a brief second then remembered it's YA. :P Anyways, I couldn't really figure out what just happened until he came back and explained that he thought she already knew her grandparents. So I didn' really give him the benefit of the doubt... Sorry Xander.
3. It felt a bit to rushed for me. Too picture perfect. In 48 hours, her mom let her know she was free to go to whichever college she wanted to, she met her grandparents and they fixed their relationship with their daughter (Caymen's mom), she got Xander back. Just a bit too rushed for me.
4. Not really. It was good as a stand-alone and I was fine without her father coming into the book. I have a feeling that Xander and Caymen will stay together anyways no matter where they go or what they do.
5. I was pleasantly surprised. I hardly read contemporary YA books (this is my third this year) so when we get a contemporary YA, it gives me a chance to expand my areas of reading (even though it's just contemporary YA). I liked being able to discuss it as it went along. It helps me form my ideas a lot better instead of reading it in one sitting and then having no idea what I thought of it. :D
1. Yep - thought it was a bit of a dick move. But I do and don't get it. 2. Totally upset - thought that he only brought her because she was deemed as acceptable - come on he was a bit of a snob...
3. Rainbows and sunshine and it made me want to punch kittens - where was the despair and struggle. You can't just create such a dynamic down to earth synical character like Caymen then make the plot all fluffy and happy!
4. No not really - it would be nice if she at least learned who her father is but - in saying that - its life - she might not ever find out.
5. Clearly from my tone I wasn't the biggest fan, which reading everyone elses comments is a little left field. I loved Caymen but just though the plot was meh - it didn't interest me and didn't dive enough into the issues for my liking. I wanted to see a bit more Katie McGarry's depth in the book!
I totally get where your coming from! Katie McGarry does issues like no other author I've read! Your comments are funny and I agree with some of what your saying (but I still have it a decent rating because it wasn't as bad as some books I've read).
