Juanita (juanitav) | 744 comments This week, I read "The Little Paris Book Shop" by Nina George for a book originally published in another language (German). It was great. And it's a new release in America so it works for a 2015 release too.

I have completed 41/52 prompts.

I've moved on to some books that won't fit my remaining prompts.

What are you reading? Are you feeling yourself losing steam? (Confession: I do.)

message 2: by Kaci (new)

Kaci | 67 comments I'm actually super behind but I've decided to do a first time post to help keep myself motivated! I'm really enjoying this, I'm just not doing a good job dedicating very much time to reading -life with a toddler :) This week I've finished Picture Perfect by Jodi Picoult and Free by Lisa Litberg. I wasn't very impressed with either but that's what I love about this challenge, I'm reading all kind of things I may not otherwise pick up! Up next I'm tackling my trilogy!

message 3: by Cate (new)

Cate (catelam) | 56 comments I did it! I finished the challenge!
Yesterday I read my book I was supposed to read in high school (although I never really was.. I just picked a book typically read in high school) with Of Mice and Men and today I finished my book set during Christmas, Let It Snow.

I was definitely running out of steam and didn't particularly feel like reading neither of these this week, but decided to power through and just complete the challenge. It was fun and I'm glad I did it, I definitely read some books that I wouldn't have otherwise picked up or that I had lying on my shelf and neglected for a long time. However I'm also glad to be done as lately I have been feeling like reading books that didn't fit any of the prompts!

The group definitely helped me by keeping me accountable for what I was reading and pushing me to try and finish at least one book every week, so thank you everyone! And good luck with the rest of the challenge!

Megan (mghrt06) | 546 comments I read three books this week. Two that filled prompts, one that didn't. I finished the Book owned but never read and place I wanted to visit. The place I wanted to visit book is the first of a trilogy and I'm trying not to start series with out finishing them so my objective for this week is to finish the next two books in that series and move on to Book published the year I was born.

This is a challenge because I never have stuck to a "schedule" when reading. I didn't realize how much pressure this factor adds. Not that I'm not enjoying it, but I think I'm just going to try to take it easy by fulfilling one prompt per week and not stress about it. For starting late, I feel like I'm still in a pretty good position for finishing. But That won't be until December!

Katherine (kiik) | 158 comments I fiiinally finished Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk (a book that scares you). It didn't scare me as much as it just grossed me out, but good enough. It definitely isn't my kind of book, which is why it took me several weeks to complete. Eventually, I just checked out the audio book and listened to it while doing other things, which I had never done before. Oh well. It's done now.

I'm still a couple books behind, and I just started Outlander (book your mom loves), so I don't see myself catching up any time soon. I like it so far, but it's almost 900 pages...

Congratulations on finishing, Cate!

message 6: by Ray (new)

Ray Jordan (rjordan1041) This week I'm reading "Eleanor and Park" by Rainbow Rowell for my set in high school prompt. I'm not even half way through and I'm totally in love with this book. After that I'm reading "Star Trek Movie Memories" by William Shatner for my book I own but haven't read yet. This is one of those books you get from a well intentioned friend or relative that you didn't really didn't want. Needless to say this book has been sitting on my bookshelf unread for a while and perfectly fits this prompt. Also, congratulations Cate for finishing the challenge.

message 7: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 65 comments This week I finished Liar's Bench by Kim Michele Richardson, which I'm using for a book I own but haven't read yet. Probably a bit of a stretch, since I only owned it for about a month before I started reading it! I also read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard - it's my book that a friend recommended. I enjoyed it, though it is reminiscent of many recent YA dystopians.
I've started Circling the Sun by Paula McLain for a book based on a true story - I'm liking it so far. I'm at 37/52 books for the year.
Congratulations Cate! And welcome Kaci - this group has really kept me motivated to finish!
Ray, I also read Eleanor and Park for my high school book and LOVED it! Definitely one of my favorite books I've read this year.

Lynn (lynnali) This is how I'm doing. I'm finding it a bit hard to keep up and find books to fit the categories that I want to read, so I'm just reading what I want and popping it in where I think they fit. It's working better for me.

Elizabeth Thinks to me doing the goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge as well as using Pinterest to keep track of my goodreads 2015 reading challenge board all I had to do was go there and match a book with the challenge,so far I've got 25 / 50 done.

message 10: by WyoLady 93 (new)

WyoLady 93 (wyolady93) I can now check off my "mystery or a thriller."
The Fallen Angel The Fallen Angel (Gabriel Allon, #12) by Daniel Silva by Daniel Silva. Excellent read. First book I have read of this author, one I have been meaning to get to for quite some time. The book is #12 in the Gabriel Alloon series, but can stand on its own, although I am going to attempt to read the whole series of books.

message 11: by Sara (new)

Sara I finished A Walk to Remember by Bill Bryson for my funny book. It wasn't that funny, but oh well. Honestly I laughed more with A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon's (like laughing out loud at some of the zingers) which I also finished a re-read of this week.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I'll read this one next!

message 14: by Kali (new)

Kali | 18 comments I made it to 29/52 this week. Yay! I completed "The Arsonist" by Sue Miller for my book by an author I love that I haven't read yet, and "The Leftovers" by Tom Perrotta as my book turned into a TV show. Both were good and worth the read. Although The Arsonist is not Sue Miller's best work.

Now I'm reading "The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins as my books by an author I've never read before. (I was so glad I could fit this in the list since I really, really wanted to read it!) Maybe I'll finish this week, maybe I won't.

Thanks for the info about Circling the Sun! I've put it on my to-read list, and maybe I can use it as the love triangle prompt.

WyoLady 93 (wyolady93) Just finished Tensleep Tensleep (Em Hansen Mystery, #1) by Sarah Andrews by Sarah Andrews as a book that takes place in or near my hometown. This book takes place in the oil fields just 20 miles south of Cody, WY where I live, and in the town of Meeteetse, WY. Great mystery, vivid descriptions of the settings, so much so I could picture them in my mind as I have been there.
