about a woman whose husband dies in an accident(something farm related) and so she is forced to sell everything and move to her hometown where she falls in love with a musician. she works for a florist driving the delivery van. Her new lover gives her a puppy. their is a major rainstorm. I believe she has a brother.

I remember that she also has a garden and i'm pretty sure she is red-headed and she can't have children.

I'm not familiar with the book, but just a hint: women whose husbands have died are called widows - men who've lost their wives are called widowers.
