The volleyball courts are the perfect place to let your competitive spirit shine! This topic is only for use during certain group dates.

Will walked out to the volleyball courts in a far corner of the gardens. He'd only ever been out here a few times, usually just because he'd been exploring. It was a good choice for a group date, though, as it required little talking and was very casual. He was dressed in khaki shorts and a light top with his severely underused sneakers. Will was a bit nervous to play as he'd never done volleyball before, but one of the servants had given him a few tips the previous day.

As the court came into full view, he saw the girl standing there. Will recognized her as Helen from the applications his father forced him to read. She looked very pretty in her clothes, but she also seemed a bit nervous. That was to be expected, though. As he approached, Will called, "I believe we're the first ones here."

Will grinned. So far, Hellen was doing well. His dislike of formality was one of the main reasons Will chose such informal things for the group dates. Still, how was he supposed to continue the conversation? Will couldn't create any impression that he liked her (he'd already decided how to select the individual dates), but he couldn't be too rude. It would be very bad for a girl to say bad things about him to the press. Will decided just to say, "It's very nice to meet you as well. Have you ever played volleyball before?" It was a simple question that didn't have any true meaning behind it.

Will decided to keep going with the conversation. He could tell Hellen was disinterested, but that was just too bad for her. At the same time, though, Will was mentally adding a note that she was not going to be receiving one of the first individual dates, unless she won it. "So you're a photographer, then?" he asked. Only with slight guilt he hoped the other girls would hurry on up.

Will thought about her question a bit. What did he enjoy? Most of his hobbies were so princely it was embarrassing. So, what would he do if he was not a prince? That was difficult to think about. He might be a librarian or a bookshop owner. Maybe he could be a teacher, but that was less likely. Perhaps Will could even be a gardener or an exterior designer. Possibly even an architect. Will was taking too long to answer, though, so he decided to just say something. "Music," he came up with. "I took a lot of lessons as a kid, so I'm kind of good at piano."

Will could feel that Helen was becoming more interested. Still, she couldn't stop bringing up her home. He understood that she was homesick, but he felt like she wasn't even there. Will replied, "I'm sure that's not true. After all, you must've learned how to take a good photo. I could never do that. Anyways, I just started taking lessons early on. They say you can only really learn a new language when you're a toddler. That sort of applies to instruments."

Will chuckled slightly. "Honestly?" he said. "There's nothing to really know about me. I mean, I'm not like they might show me in the tabloids, but if you watch the Report every Friday, you'll get to know me pretty well." Will had never thought of himself as much more than the crown prince. He liked to think he stayed true to himself most of the time, that there was only one Will. Eager to change the topic, he said, "Seriously, though, I need to know more about you. After all, you must've watched me for years, but I've only just met you."

((it's okay))

Will thought for a second, and then he answered. "Everything." It may sound cheesy, but he wanted to know his future wife inside and out. Her favorite color, her childhood friends, her sixth grade math teacher, her favorite (and least favorite) songs, her whole life story. Even though there was a 1/35 chance Hellen would be his wife, he wanted to get to know her, just in case. Or at least start to get to know her.

((yes, everybody in group 1 is supposed to be posting))

Denver -writes poems drinks wine- | 18 comments Arietta made her way to the volleyball courts, her red hair in a perky ponytail that swung with each delicate step she took. Her assinged maids had picked her the perfect outfit, a mixture of sporty and cute. She wore a lace white halter top which accented her tan skin and brilliant hair, paired with a pair of black, high waisted shorts. She was slightly aprehensive; she didnt know any of the others here and she was incredibly nervous about meeting the prince. He seemed to be a genuinly nice person, she was rather good at judging that sort of thing.

Elena walked onto the court. Volleyball had never been her strong suit, but she was okay at it, and it wouldn't look good to ask to be in a different group, so she just dealt with it. Seeing that the prince (William, wasn't it?) was already talking to another girl, so she decided to let them talk as she took hold of a ball and servied the ball. Luckily the ball landed over the net, but only slightly. That was a relief; it would look bad if it hadn't gone over the net, and usually when she served balls they didn't go over the net.
It was actually quite hot outside so Elena walked over to a bench where she had put her water and drank a bit of it. She didn't want to sit down on the bench, for it looked a little dirty, and she didn't want the outfit her maids had put together for her to get messed up. It was a nice summer casual outfit, with some simple white shorts and a flowy tank top that was sunset orange and had a lace-like design on the front of it.
((sorry if this is short-on my phone so I can't really tell))

Will then noticed the other two girls who'd arrived while they were chatting. He picked up a volleyball one of them had served over he net and tossed it gently back to her. "Elena, isn't it?" he asked. "I'm afraid we're still waiting on two more girls. You're free to practice, though." Will thought it was good she was practicing. She may want to, once he announced the prize for the winner.

Denver -writes poems drinks wine- | 18 comments Arietta approched one of the other selected, a small smile on her lips. "Nice to meet you, I'm Arietta," she introduced, slipping into a quick little dancer's curtsy out of habit. Dancing was the girl's biggest passion in life. She often found herself slipping into little dance moves or positions simply out of habit. She let her eyes roam over to the Prince for but a moment, her eyes like blue pools of ocean water meeting his briefly, causing a red blush to creep across her cheeks. She curstied again towards the prince. "Your Majesty," she greeted polietly, a shy smile on her mouth, "It is a pleasure to meet you! "

Elena stood up and caught the ball the prince had thrown her. "Yes, you're correct, my name is Elena," she said with a small smile before serving the ball over the net again. She knew she would have to get used to it, but she couldn't believe Prince Will was talking to her. She made a small curtsy, as she had seen another girl doing that, and walked over to the other side to retrieve the ball.

The prince smiled. "No need for formalities," he said. It was a bit odd for the girls to be curtsying. Then again, they might've had some sort of lesson about how to act around the prince. His mother had mentioned them once before. Will then said, "It's very nice to meet you as well, Arietta." He then picked up another one of the volleyballs available and asked, "Have you ever played before?"

Still sneaking shy glances at Prince Will whenever she had the chance, Elena kept on serving-alternating underhand and overhand. Although she didn't want to be, she couldn't help but feel a tiny bit jealous that the prince was talking to the other girls more than to her. He had said he would wait for the other two girls to come, she debated in her head before just deciding to go with it. I'll be here for at least two weeks, and Prince Will will have plenty of other occasions to talk to me, she thought. Yep, even if she was the first one to leave, the prince would still talk to her beforehand,

Denver -writes poems drinks wine- | 18 comments Arietta smiled, a sweet, beautiful smile which spread up to her eyes. "I have a bit, but its been a few years. I'm no pro or anything," she laughed. "What about you? Do they let you get out here and play much?" her curly red hair bobbed in the breeze around her. She couldnt help but continue to blush. Thwre was something about his gaze upon her that just made her heart flutter.she was utterly terrible when it came to blushing, a red creeping over the entirety of her cheeks, embarassing her and causing her to only blush further.

Arietta seems to be blushing quite an awful lot. Will thought that it was very charming. It felt sort of weirdly nice for somebody to be so nervous about meeting him. To answer her question, he said, "No, never. I've only ever done golf and some soccer. This is my very first time." A wide smile grew across his cheeks. "It would be quite embarrassing if I was the worst one here."

Denver -writes poems drinks wine- | 18 comments Arietta grinned, "well I doubt you could possibly be worse than I'll be. If anything, we'll just be terrible together!" she said, her tone teasing in a sweet way. He was incredibly easy to talk to, she was finding, and this initially surprised her. "But in all honestly, I'm sure youll do well. And either way, its going to be a blast!" Arietta tried to generally remain optimistic, especially in situaitons such as this. It could be rather difficult to always remain positive, especially with a grueling past like the one she had, but she tried her best.

sucre'd fiend (sucredfiend) | 30 comments Sand was a no go. Which meant that this date was basically a no-go, but it wasn't like the dark haired girl that glowered at the volleyball court was going to voice this. Penn knew the group dates were crucial; she had to get along with people. But with someone like her, truly getting along didn't really exist. There was only who could benefit her, and who was absolutely useless. But, she supposed this would be a good way to find that out. Still eyeing the sand hatefully, she looked over her opponents for the day, and then her target. She could bear a few hours in the sand for her goal, she surmised, and stepped up to join the girls in a friendly game of beach sports.

avery ♞ do something revolutionary (averyreadsbooks) | 714 comments Mod
Will laughed slightly at Arietta's optimism. It was sort of annoying but kind of sweet. "You've obviously never seen me try to catch something before. I've got zero hand-eye coordination. Just you wait, I'll be the worst one here." Will had no reservations about being slightly negative. Anyways, this didn't really count because he was still smiling. Hopefully, that wouldn't come off as being rude.
