Justine had been taken to the golf court by a servant who guided her even though Justine told the servant that she could get there by herself. Sure it would more than likely take her a few hours but she'd still get there. They arrived and Justine was more than slightly nervous mostly about how she was going to play. She didn't want to sit out but she couldn't see where she was hitting the ball. Well she'd see what she could do but with her luck she'd probably hit the prince with the ball or possibly if she was really unlucky a club.
Will strolled out to the mini golf course on one of the far edges of the castle property. He was still wearing his dress pants and button-up shirt from a rather boring budget meeting earlier that day, but he was excited to play some mini golf. He'd only done it a few times before with his younger siblings, but it was enough times to understand the general rules. Picking up one of the small clubs, Will went to wait for the other girls to arrive. "It's Justine, right?" he asked the girl already there.
Justine turned towards what she assumed was the prince "Yes, and you're Will right?" She said her tone slightly amused "Have you ever used one of these things." She said gesturing to the club that one of the servants had headed to her. "And just to forewarn you if s ball hits anyone in the head it did not come from me." She said smiling
Will laughed a little bit. "Don't worry," he assured, "these clubs aren't at all big enough to hit a ball into somebody's head. I have, actually, played mini golf before. It's not very hard at all." He thought of what he could say next to keep her calm. "You just have to hit the ball into a hole a few feet away. No biggie."
"That's good at least," She said smiling then sent him an amused expression "It is if you can't actually see the hole." She said clearly teasing him now "I'm sure I'll get the hang of it though. Might take more than several missed swings and a lot of overshot balls but I'll get it" She said laughing slightly. She felt oddly comfortable with the prince.
Will felt very, very confused. What did she mean she couldn't see the hole? If she needed glasses, they could get those for her. Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, "Why can't you see the hole?" On second thought, he realized that was very rude. Too late now, though.
That was it Justine burst into laughter "I'm sorry it must not have been on my application but I'm blind." She bluntly said not sugarcoating the truth in any way shape or form. She did have to wonder if he would eliminate her though after all who would want a blind person as a wife? She didn't let her worries show though.
((when do I post? I'm kinda confused here... :/))
(( You can just post now and have Vanessa walk in late maybe? Or perhaps say she was here the whole time but hasn't spoken until now.))
((sure...but I'll get to that later since I'm awfully tired...It'll take me ages to write a post! XD thanks red! <3))
Vanessa walked into the golf court, curtsying the minute she saw the Prince. "Sorry I'm late," she mumbled, feeling slightly embarrassed. She wore her decorated day dress (view spoiler) which she thanked the maids for dressing her in. If she had worn something floor-length, she would have tripped over already. Not to mention the embarrassment that would bring.
She blushed as she noticed that all the girls were staring at her, but it didn't take her long to realise that those stares were actually sharp glares. She flinched slightly before turning back to the Prince. "My maids woke me up a bit late," She added, trying not to pinpoint the blame directly on the maids.["br"]>

((is anyone else supposed to be posting?))
((where is she?..sorry but I'm really excited about this...))
((sorry guys, totally forgot to reply!!))
Will blanked out for a minute. Why would there be a blind girl in the Selection? Oh, yeah, diversity. Still, it was kind of shocking. Will was saved from any awkward conversation when two more girls arrived. "It's entirely fine to be late," he said. "In fact, you're not late at all. I'm just early. You're Vanessa, correct?" Seriously, he felt bad now for taking a blind girl to mini golf. Then again, she didn't put anything on her application. Most likely, nobody knew about it all.
Justine was a bit annoyed by the princes reaction but she also couldn't blame him. She sat in silence for a minute before two other selected girls showed up. She smiled brightly at the approaching selected. She honestly wondered why the prince seemed so surprised you would've thought that the Prince would've read it on her application. Unless her parents 'forgot' to put it on her application which now that she thought about it made a lot of sense.
Aarona was usually on time, and yet she found herself in the class of late. Probably because she'd spent a good deal of time the night before stressing about this date thing--group date, two party date; it was still a date--and had overslept when she actually had been able to fall asleep. She put on a smile, seeing the prince speaking with another selected girl. For now, she'd have to wait before she could speak to him, but there was always mini-golf to keep her busy.
Vanessa smiled slightly, looking at the Prince confidently. "Yes, I am Vanessa. But I prefer to be called Scarlett." She said, looking at the blind girl. She wondered why a blind girl would even apply for the selection. I mean, there's nothing wrong with being blind, no offense. In fact, one of her first cousins were blind too. But she didn't quite know how people would react to a blind queen. But then again, she respected the fact that she actually had the guts to apply and also the fact that she even got a place in the selection.
Will decided to not ask why Vanessa went by Scarlett. Most likely, it was a middle name. Still, it was just a tiny bit weird. To start a new discussion, he asked, "Have you ever done mini golf before?" That seemed like a good enough conversation starter. Will couldn't imagine that she hadn't. Mini golf was pretty common, or at least he assumed so.
Vanessa grinned. "Yes, I love it! What about you?" She asked, suddenly excited. She remembered the times she would play with her family, usually getting mud all over her clothes and her mum would tell her off. A two can't go around looking dirty, she would say. This whole caste system really did seemed to bother Vanessa.
"Have you played before?" She asked, then regretted saying it. Of course. He's the prince. Surely he's played mini golf before. Stupid me she said to herself.

Cinnia strode in, picking up a golf club and a ball. She had never done mini golf before, but she did actual golf a few times. She had been good at it, but it hadn't completely been her cup of tea. It was a little too slow-paced for her. I wonder if there's going to be a competition of some kind, she thought as she scored a hole in one on the first hole, which was pretty simple. It was just a green track with a hole in the back, but looking around she could see much more elaborate holes. She saw two girls talking to each other, and then the prince standing a little bit away from them. Cinnia decided to walk up to the hole nearest him to try to talk to him.
"Only a few times," he answered. William continued, "I'm pretty good at real golf. Mini golf, though, not so much. I'm sure you were pretty good at it." He saw one of the other girls who'd just arrived approach him. She didn't seem to realize he was already having a conversation. At first, he thought it was rude, but then he thought it was just competitive.
Vanessa smiled at the Prince. "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure of that. Like you, I've only ever done real golf. Though sports really isn't my thing." She said, looking at the girl who was trying to interrupt. Who does she think she is? Can't she see I'm in the middle of a conversation? "So, Prince William, how is the Selection going so far? I've heard it can get pretty stressful," She said, wanting to keep the conversation flowing.
Will allowed himself to feel delighted that somebody had finally asked about himself. He wasn't vain or anything, he was just tired of endless chatter from the girls. "You would definitely be right about it being stressful," he answered. "It's sort of fun, though, because I get to do pretty much anything I want for the dates." A random question popped into his head, so he asked it. Got to keep the conversation going, right? "What's your dream date?" he asked.
Vanessa looked at him blankly. "Well, I haven't really thought about it. I mean, you're the Prince! Your dates have got to be different than normal ones. But if its one thing I absolutely love, it's going outdoors. The park, a garden, sitting down, a little picnic. It's just so..." She searched for a word. "Peaceful. I mean, I like being outside. Much better than staying indoors, watching a two hour movie." She said. "What about you?" She asked, wondering whether she shouldn't have said what she had.
((sorry it took me a while!))
Will hoped she'd answered truthfully. That way, he could take her on that dream date. Honestly, how romantic would that be? To answer his own question, though, he had to consider. Would he want to do something simple? No, he wanted to do something normal. "I think I would want to go to the fair. Like at sunset. Just play games and go on the Ferris wheel and eat fried food," he said. The main reason he chose that was because it was something he might do if he wasn't prince. Will had only been to a fair once for some speech thing, but he envied all the teens his age getting to walk around without anybody stopping them.
((its fine))
Vanessa smiled. "That's nice. I guess its just that you've been stuck inside the castle for your entire life. Though, I've only ever been to the fair once. Last year. And I loved it! We could go sometime..." She said, looking at him, not in the way other girls did, practically drooling! No, she looked at him in a both friendly and a respectful way. She didn't want to cross the boundaries. The worst thing that could happen was to get eliminated on the first day!

Vanessa seemed like she was trying very hard to seem cool and collected. That was fine for the first date, but hopefully it wasn't a permanent thing. Will did like how she sort of noticed why he might like the fair so much. He was a bit surprised that a Two like her would only have gone to the fair once, but that was alright. "There's no way I'd be let out of the castle without my parents and about 15 guards. We could have a fair here, though," he suggested. Without even realizing it, he'd suggested a major group event. They might have to get some other royals over to do it, though. Possibly the cousins could come into town! Will missed his cousins.
Vanessa frowned. That way it would be more of a group date. "But you're allowed picnics, right?" She asked hopefully. She seemed to like the Prince more. "Like, we could go out in the gardens, alone, sometime. Like go for a walk." She suggested, hoping he wasn't getting bored of her. She didn't want him to think badly about her. She was just trying to get to know him. "Or we could do anything you want to," She added.
Will frowned slightly. It was like she was forcing a date onto him. He couldn't not take her on a date now. "A picnic is fine," he replied, trying to sound cheerful. "I'm sure they'd let us have one. Just so long as we don't go too far." Will was starting to get a bit worried about all this date talk. If he had to go on an individual date with every girl (which he would), he didn't know how long he would last.
Vanessa noticed him frowning. "Don't worry. We don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to," She said, trying to not force him into anything. "And I'm so sorry if I'm bothering you. Just let me know when you're ready for all this." She said. It was his first day at this after all...And she didn't want to pressure him.
((Didn't see this, sorry))
"Oh, no, no, a picnic sounds wonderful. I'd really like to have one, trust me," he said. Will tried to smile without looking too forced, but it wasn't working. "It's just...a lot to think about, with all these people here and everything." Will was a bit confused by Vanessa. She was talking about how much fun a picnic would be, and then saying she didn't want to do it if he didn't want to, which just made Will feel like he needed to do it now.
Vanessa sighed. "Take your time. I'm certain all of the other girls are dying for a day out with you. I suggest you have dates with them first. I'm in no rush..." She said. What if he eliminated her? Am I doing anything wrong? Try not to sound so forceful... "I'm sorry, Your majesty. I guess I'm not helping very much..." She said quickly.
Aarona turned as someone moved to speak to her, smile still on her lips. She wasn't worried at this point; the sun had an affect close to liquor on her and she soaked it up as she lazed about to play minigolf with her competitors. It was odd, this sensation of calm that swept over her at such a crucial time. It was like someone had held her in warm water and limbs felt like wet noodles in the good kind of way. But she should have been all high strung, and ready to strike like several of the other contestants she'd seen.
"We haven't," Aaron replied, shaking the girl's hand, "I'm Aarona. Wasn't quite expecting minigolf." Small talk; getting to know the enemy. She wondered what anyone else would be doing in her place, before remembering that there were already thirty-some girls in her position.
