Liz (liz_the_librarian) A number of highly anticipated books have come out over the past month. Anyone picked up Go Set a Watchman, Armada, Grey or another equally as hyped book yet?

I also just saw that a new Lisbeth Salander book is set to come out in September. The English title will be The Girl in the Spider's Web. It should be interesting to see if the new book lives up to Stieg Larsson's hugely successful trilogy.

What are you reading this week? Do you recommend it?

Julie | 130 comments I am finally around to reading The Night Circus, and am enjoying it very much so far.

I also slipped in a quick read this past week: Love at First Bark: How Saving a Dog Can Sometimes Help You Save Yourself.

Autumn This week I read The Namesake by Lahiri, which I highly recommend. It's a great story about roots and identity within the context of a couple from India moving to the States and their children who are born there.

I also just started The House of the Spirits by Allende and although I have not gotten far, I think it is beautifully written and has a sense of playful mysticism.

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments I am a little over halfway through Armada by Ernest Cline . It's hard not to compare it to Ready Player One, but so far it is still an interesting book. There's a lot of cursing in the book that I don't feel adds to character development, but I get that he's trying to convey how many teenagers talk. The story is still good fun, albeit a bit predictable. But, I think that's probably what Cline was going for since the book is once again chock-full of geeky pop-culture references with Music, Movies, and Video Games spanning from the mid 70's to the 2010s. And of course, I can't go wrong with an audiobook narrated by Wil Wheaton.

This week I am working on trying to make a dent in the piles of library books I have on the floor. Finished The Book of Speculation , which was pretty good, earlier this week and finished Donna Bell's Bake Shop last night. I thought that was a nice mix of memoir and cookbook. I also love Pauley Perrette so I'm probably biased. Don't read it while you are hungry, though! You'll want to eat the pictures of the food.

Now working on The Secret History of Wonder Woman (which is more like the not so secret history of Wonder Woman's creator) and My Beloved Brontosaurus (I can't resist a dinosaur book).

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I'm continuing my Anita Blake binge, and am now up to Hit List. I also read Saga vols 1-4 (in one day), but noticed that there doesn't seem to be a vol. 5, at least not yet. Do they not have a regular release date? They can't end it there.
Not sure what I'll read next. Probably one of the David Mitchell books I checked out.
