Hooray for Michelle and Tracey!! Congratulations for completing your challenges! On a more depressing note, I have 22 books to read before December 31st. I haven't felt like this much of a slacker since law school. ;-)
They all count! I have to admit though, I like to crawl inside thick books that are lousy with words. The longer the better, as long as the author has a story to tell and can string words into sentences that lead me deep into his story. I hide from my sad and disappointing life by being transported into other times, places and circumstances, each and every book is a few hours when my depression is not permitted to drag my mind into terrible dark places. Thank god for authors and books, or I don't want to think of what might become of me!
I've suckered some of my friends into a week long reading marathon. Hoping to get close to my goal by next Friday. If all else fails, I have about 9 re-reads that I haven't been counting.
Nothing is better than a good comfort re-read when you're feeling down!
On 12/31/2015 I was able to complete reading 315 books. If you determine what is most important you can read a lot of books. My list is as follows:Read
No housework
Read
No laundry
Read
No cooking
Read
Definitely no ironing

Oh, right. I finished my 150th book last night while at a New Year's Eve party...'cause that's how I roll. ;-)
I finished my 178th book last night, after watching "The Theory of Everything" with my husband, who was disappointed there wasn't more physics in it.
Claudine wrote: "I love that!!! I'm the same way sometimes !!"I was with other reader friends. They all understood the importance of reaching my yearly goodreads goal. So nice to have friends that read!
He teaches Physics, Chemistry and Biology and hoped this movie might be about Stephen Hawking's ideas, rather than his love life and disability. My response was to laugh and ask if he'd ever seen a Hollywood movie. (It was either "The Theory of Everything" or one of his favorites "Love Actually." We saw the new "Star Wars" the night before. )

Oh, Debbie, I can SO relate! I wasn't part of the 2015 Challenge (I just got on GR recently so I'm in on the 2016 Challenge) but I read 385 books last year. It helps to be retired. I feel like I'm already behind where I want to be this year because my husband and I were driving all day yesterday and I can't read while I'm driving!
Debbie, do you listen to audio books on long trips? It's a way to read/ listen to more books. It gives you and your fellow travelers something to think about, talk about as you drive. I haven't found many books on tape I need to own, so they are excellent as library books, so I don't need to store them.
