She just has to make an overdramatic, snarky, or sarcastic remark and somebody will immediately try to correct her. Make her apologize for whatever rude comment she might have made, and Brielle will fight back. And when she fights back, she always catches attention. Brielle has always been like that: a fighter. Never settling for anything less than the best, always determined to get her own way, although always keeping in mind how it might effect others. If you have a problem and need someone to give you words of wisdom, Brielle is not your to-go-to person. She would just tell you to figure it out yourself, tussle her hair, and walk away. Brielle in fact is incredibly smart, clever, cunning and conniving. She has lots of good advice but doesn't want to waste it on other people she hardly cares about. Everyone has their own ways of dealing with grief: this is Brielle's. To hide behind a mask, because if that mask ever slipped, they would see the grieving girl with such a heavy weight on her shoulders. And in a way, Brielle would rather have a walk of shame than have the people see how much losing the two people most dear to you has affected you.
A N O T H E R thing you have to know about Brielle, is that she's a family person. She might not hang around her sisters that much, but they still have a unique bond that will never fade, and when they do see each other the times are special. Being a princess to Brielle is a game. You dress up, put on an extra layer of gloss, laugh to impress the foreign ambassadors and keep on laughing to impress everyone else. To be honest, Brielle does like dressing up, doesn't mind the make up and having her hair done simply but elegantly, she just doesn't enjoy having to do it so much. And sometimes, she feels so fake wearing those layers, the same way she often feels so fake with her strong personality and what it takes to keep it up. Because underneath all that, is a softhearted gentle soul, someone that is agreeable to almost anything, someone it would be a sin to set free for everyone to see.
B R I E L L E is sided with the Southern Rebels. Tired of this parading around, being interviewed, this nonsense that takes away from doing other things. It takes away time on which she could be doing more valuable things: things that are more close to her heart. It's not as though she actually does missions for the rebels, Brielle doesn't want to kill anyone or have blood on her hands, she is just a powerful sympathizer that they don't know they have. Now that the Selection is here, Brielle has mixed feelings about it. One thing she does know, however, is that she'll either mock the girls or completely ignore. Probably mock them. It makes it all the more fun, right?

The public does not understand Josiah Schreave, the boy who has a different style, a different hair color, a different sarcastic comeback whenever he comes onstage, straying from the quirky, hilarious, adorable little boy they have come to know and love so well. Those with judgmental eyes keep pressing him to grow up, to act like a prince, to act like a man, to act and act and act, as if he isn't already donning a mask. They do not recognise the well-read intellectual no more than they recognise the eyeliner and the ironic shirt stating: punk is dead. They categorise his life as a series of phases in a show known as teenage rebellion, the result of childhood tragedy, failing to see the flames of youth and freedom which stand even after the innocence has been completely washed away.
He is more than a prankster or a pretty face, a sharp, rational mind who isn't afraid to be a little wild, a little stupid, a little much if it means fooling the press one more time. Joey is every bit as wild as the press makes him out to be, a boy that knows how to be quiet, but not how to be gentle, every move sharp, sudden, brown eyes giving off the deception of heat as his untamed soul shoots ideas in twenty different directions, flying so far as to reach the ghosts of his parents and carry on the legacy of their glory.

Although he's the older twin by a mere six minutes, Danny has always been the protector, the older brother unafraid to make sure that Joey will always keep that little bit of innocence, that spark, that wildness he's always had. Danny, with his irrational mind but rational, cold eyes, with his tongue like a hidden blade, with his distrustful heart and longing for a respite, never lets his guard down, except around his brother. It's odd -- these two polar opposites, but they're so close. They balance each other out. More than that, they understand each other unconditionally, in ways no one else ever will. Peter has always been a faded child. Never really there, always hidden in the background. Quiet and understated, almost unnoticeable if you don’t look twice. Not one for much socialization, he’d rather be in isolation. Expect when he plays the piano, something, someone completely different comes out. When he plays the piano it seems to him that he could overcome anything, take on every challenge. He’s a musical genius, a protégé, like Mozart or Beethoven. The music seems to flow out of him, the songs just pop into his head. Everyone sees his brilliance except him, to him it’s part of who he is not just a talent.
Maybe Peter was scared, scared of facing the world. That’s what everyone told him. He just needed to come out of his shell, become a man, stop hiding from everything. But that’s not what he was doing. He was never hiding from anything, but rather observing. Watching the crowd, watching human instinct, and turning it into a melody. He could make his pain turn into a beautiful song that perfectly reflected how he felt in the notes, he could do anything through music. He expressed himself through music, spoke through music, that’s why his words were seldom and quiet. He was stronger then everybody thought him to be, and his songs spoke for him, louder then a thousand words.
