#1. After The Selection, Leo quit on being a guard. After he helped arranging the meeting with Northerners, he said that he won't work for the rebels because they're shady, but refuse to stay with Perry and Elysia because that would be too weird.
But judging from the fact that he always came to the Palace everytime they had baby shower, with a gift on one hand and legit unamused expression, I think we know which side he choosed.
#2 Perry had everything planned out before he proposed Elysia. It was going to be grand, fantastic, emotional, and unforgettable. But for some reason, his plan didn't work and they ended up fighting, and Elysia bursted into anger about everything she never said before. About how unfair everything is, that she's just gonna go back home to her mother and accept the fact that she's gonna spend the rest of her life doing shitty spying job, and her mother will never be proud of her, and Perry's gonna choose an accessory instead of a wife because that's just how Royal is, and they never work hard in their life, and Perry's gonna make stupid choices for this country because no one sane enough to prevent him and Perry be like, 'Oh, so you think you can handle this better than me?' 'Of course I can! What do you know about the people out there. All you know are numbers and reports, all those craps! Nobody inside this Palace knows how to actually run this country because all you can hear is our echoes.' or stuffs like that, and it ends with Perry yelling 'Fine! F*cking marry me then! Let's see if you can handle half of my job!'
And then it was followed by complete silence.
Christine had a dog when she was a little girl still in the northern rebel clan. Chris loved that dog to death. Everyday was a routine, dog walked chris to fight camp, hours later dog came back to pick Chris up. One day she walked with her dog to fight camp and then he never came back to pick her up. She went home and saw the leader of her clan shoot her dog. When she asked why he told her it made her weak. Chris never got attached to much else after that.
rea stahp giving me feels this is not ok
#3: The first time she realized she was pregnant, Elysia had a complete meltdown. She'd never seen herself as the mother type -- for god's sake, she was a fighter, a spy. She had scarred arms and calloused fingers and knew how to put together a sniper rifle in less than a minute. She knew how to tell when someone was lying and how to kill a man seven different ways with a spoon. She didn't know how to raise a child. And look how Suki had turned out as a mother -- what if Elysia ended up exactly like her? It took her an entire three days, five movies, and Perry talking her through it before she came to terms with it.
#6. Leo was basically the unofficial emissary between the King and the Northerners(althought he refuses to admit that he's working for either side). And of course, the one who handled things that cannot go public (Perry used to tease him by saying that they're like The Avengers, and Leo loathes that joke).
He was coming to the Palace the night Perry and Elyia were killed, and even when he didn't say it out loud, Leo felt guilty because he couldn't help his friends. He realized that no matter how tough he is, he cannot protect the people he cares about all the time, and the idea of knowing they can't defend theirshelves when Leo isn't around, it keeps bringing him back to the night when his friends were killed--for God's sake, it was Elysia, the one who was so good at marksmanship, it was like the rifle became the extention of her hand, and Perry, who cheated death once-. After that night, he decided that his only focus in life, is to take care of his adopted son, preparing him for the world. Although his tough love often gets mistaken for 'trying to destroy a child's mental and physical health'.
#8 Perry knew that Elysia had this fear if she would be a kind of parent like her own mother. So he was willing to take the role of 'strict, scolding, annoying, demanding parent' and let the children hated him a little, so that Elysia wouldn't have to be that kind of parent for them. Perry suggested that she should let him did the whole tough-love thing, so she could be the 'chill-they-re-just-kids' type of parent.
#9 Sometimes, when they were all still very young, the kids would sleep with their parents, all six of them on one bed. One time they asked 'Daddy, why do you look tired?' 'Daddy, do you have trouble sleeping?' and they told Perry that Elysia read bedtime story for them. 'Mommy always reads a story and it makes me sleep well.' 'Maybe Mommy should read a bedtime story too for Daddy!'. Tempted, knowing how weird that would be, Perry dare Elysia to do that 'Why yes, you never tell a bedtime story for me.' and Elysia just glared at him, but of course she wouldn't say no to her children's request, so that night he told a story about a girl and a boy. The girl, by the day, was just this loner who didn't stand out much, and the boy, for some reason tried to be friend with her, she always ignored the nerd boy. Until one night he discovered her secret, that she was a cat-rescuing vigilante. Perry teased her, saying what a lame story it was, even when he remembered that he was the one who made that story the night when they first met.
#10 Wick's death was not Leo's fault. But Leo was the reason Wick died. Wick never meant to join the rebels. For fuck's sake, he wasn't rebel material. He wasn't ruthless and sharp like his father or charismatic and serious like his mother. But when they needed another man with a gun to scout out some Southern rebel territory that night, Wick glanced at Leo's annoying deadpan and caved. They weren't going to kill anyone. They were just scouting. It would be like the old days. Wick would goof off and annoy the hell out of Leo and Leo would try to kill everyone by glaring daggers. It would be fun. The other rebel came out of nowhere and the bullet was headed straight towards Leo. Wick didn't even blink. Just bam, he shoved the other boy out of his way and was dead before he hit the ground. The thing is, he didn't even know it was Leo. All he saw was the opportunity to save a life, and he took it.
He was twenty-two.
and now i'm just sitting here regretting all the amazing moments that they could've had and we never rped out
#12 : After he burned off not only his but all three of his daughters' eyebrows for the third time, his wife put an end to all the experimental lessons and told him to learn how to cook. While Charlie never became more than mediocre at most of the dishes in the cookbook (he didn't like following instructions), he did learn how to make killer animal shapes out of the pancake batter, and would narrate stories for his children using the various animals he created (their favourite was of the astrophysicist unicorn that helped a rhigerazelle (rhino/tiger/gazelle) rebuild ancient Rome utilising some magical blueberries).

#14: Elysia had always wanted Calla to be queen, once she had heard Calla say it herself once. After all, Calla was the eldest. She was smart, logical, interested in politics and in bettering Illea. She would make a good leader. Elysia had talked to Perry, she had talked to council members and advisers. She was ready to fight to give Calla access to what should rightfully be hers -- after all, women could do anything just as well as any man could, so why not rule? Elysia had hoped to finalize everything before Calla came of age, but, well... We all know how that tragedy ends.
this is gonna get back to you, bro. just you wait.
it hurts to write about elysia
especially when they're so undeniably true
#15 Everybody knows that Leo loathes tenderness, or sympathy, or any good thing that makes you human. Even when Elysia's motherly instinct ocassionally kicked in around him, Leo didn't care - he would give anyone death glare without exception. One night, without warning, he showed up at the Palace. Sure he knew some secret entrance, thanks to his survillence during his time as a Guard. Sure he did that more than Perry or Elysia could count, and they were complaining about how Leo should've draw some line (or at least make a damn call before). That night was no different: Lewis informed them that Leo was coming, and he waited at Perry's office without asking permission, and he would finish a whole bottle of wine by himself. Elysia was ready to scold him that time, until she saw Leo, leaning on the edge of Perry's desk, emotionless like always, bottle on his hand, and his shirt was covered in blood. Elysia was halfway done yelling at Leo until he finally said, "Wick's dead.". At that moment, Elysia didn't care if Leo would slap the back of her head again, she just ran to Leo and wrapped her arms around him. Leo didn't fight back, and that was the only time in his life where he let somebody hug him.

#16: It was obvious that Wick was in love with Leo. His smile shined brighter, his movements became more relaxed, goofier, and his always infectious, easy-rolling laugh rang clearer. Wick looked at Leo like the sun gazed out at the reat of the Milky Way, as if in the distance and cold, impersonal beauty of Leo's constant deadpan, there lay constellations. But he never suspected such a feeling could be reciprocated. After all, he was merely one medium sized star in an entire galaxy overflowing with millions of others. Leo never seemed to be more than simply vaguely annoyed with Wick. How could he have known?
I've said it, and I'm saying this again
#17 On their wedding day, Perry and Elysia surprised everyone when they recreated Footloose's final dance for their first dance together. Elysia, being a good dancer she was, stole the spotlight while Perry was anything but a decent dancer. Couldn't let them have all the fun, Wick joined the dance, followed by the others. Perry dragged Roan in, even when Roan definitely didn't want to and nearly cry. Elysia tried to get Leo to dance but he was so far away from the stage, minding his own business with bottles of wine. In the end, it looked more like a flash mob than a first dance but that was one of the best thing that happened that day.

*cute overload*
Adrian and Calla would've been playmates. And then joined by Hayden. And then by the twins, and they would've looked up at Wick and Perry for their dazzling mischievousness. And then Leo would crash the party and dragged Wick and Adrian back home.
And then Perrysia and Wickeo would exchange terrible baby shower gift to each other, but they practically had a meeting to decide baby shower gift for Lewis's child. Elysia and Wick would argue about which baby shower surprise party's idea is better, and Perry would look at them and be like, 'You know I'm the one who's gonna pay for all of this, right?'
#18 : After the first Southern rebel attack, Jake and Heather stood, paralysed in the music room for far too long. Heather always wondered, if she had mustered the courage, the strength, the will to fucking walk out that door and into the hallways, could she have saved her brother? Colfer, the boy with sparkling blue eyes and a laugh that rang out for miles. Colfer, the boy who challenged her time and time again to arm wrestling matches which always turned into brawls. Colfer, her baby brother, who was seventeen, too young, too innocent to die.
After Colfer died, Jake found Heather in the training room. Her eyes were filled with anger, but this time, they did not feed from injustice. They fed from desperation, from helplessness, from a guilt that seemed to rip her to shreds. She grabbed a rifle. Teach me. She whispered. Jake walked over and grabbed the gun, grabbed her hands, and when they met eyes this time, it seemed as if a veil had fallen.
Jake and Heather were terrified and angry. But not at each other. No, this time, brown and green seemed to melt into each other, and they met in their fear, feeling for the first time, as if they were not so alone. As if they were whole.

For the rest of the "interview," the interviewer doesn't get another word in edgewise, and instead watches, dumb-founded, as Perry and Elysia have a full-out debate over the merits of the two protagonists.

rea ; bless you for that gem
wick sure knows how to break the ice
willa + katherine ; a headcanon is a theory about an event/scene/etc that was never actually written out, but is accepted in our heads, ergo head + canon (as in canonical script, writing, etc). this thread is specifically for what happened to characters from the 2nd selection after the 2nd selection was oversoalotofperrysiaandwickeoandwickeosiawhat
anyways
yeah
"supposedly-the-comic-relief-puppies-turned-gay-angsty"
too accurate for me to deal
this is gonna be so fluffy and hilarious and also a little bit angsty but it's not like we can help that
the time i wrote the story behind one of these it was pURE HEARTBREAK AND TEARS and it made me cry so i need wick blowing up shit and being completely alive
but ahhhh angst and heartbreak and nuuuuu perrysia's death nooooo
but wick blowing things up is A++
dUDE IT'S PERFECT
I LOVE <333
it's making me having feelings pls stop rea
their poor little babies left all alone so soon
i'm actually so bitter about both of them dying bc things would have been so different for all of their kids had they not died
like i have headcanons about living!perrysia too but like that's not reality so adsjfgk
*creys*
omfg just imagine it:
suki: *stare-off with elysia*
elysia: *stare-off with suki*
leo: *is bored*
rebels: *are suspicious*
perry: *tries to look put-together and kingly and in control and smart all at the same time*
wick: *blows shit up*
suki: *i'm so glad my daughter didn't turn out like that* *even if she sorta isn't doing what i want her to do at least she succeeded and is now within the palace command system*
elysia: *wick not again*
leo: *eye roll*
rebels: *what the actual fuck*
perry: sooooooooo now that the ice is officially broken can we actually start discussing stuff
nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuomfg
perrysia and wickeo dealing with their respective kids' teenage crises
elysia cornering adrian all subtle-like in order to get updates on the wickeo action that happens out of her sight and out of sight of her spies
asking him "harmless" questions
and since adrian's always known her, 'cause leo and wick, c'mon -- elysia is practically an aunt to adrian at this point
he chats with her casually
and elysia slipping in the:
"so tell me they've made out already at least once?"
and adrian being torn between "wAiT wHaT" and "not yet, the fucking blind idiots. you'd think that after practically raising me together they'd have figured it out, but nooo, they wallow in denial and pining and continue their stupid-ass game of gay chicken"
i'm cryinglike i don't even have a response to all of this because it is too on point and accurate for me to handle right now
"you guys are totally head over gay heels for each other" this is exactly something elysia would think while staring at leo with an inordinate amount of judgement and fondness and exasperation in her eyes
elysia would get so fucking angry at perry and do all of the damn paperwork herself and lobby the politicians herself and work her rebel magic and withhold all husband-ly privileges until perry manned up and started working with her to place calla in the line of succession
elysia starts looking at rings for leo to use to ask wick to marry him even tho no one, NO ONE, has yet admitted their feelings
perry catches her doing so, asks if she's seeing another man
elysia's like, why would i be searching for rings if i was doing that??? this is for leo. that is, if he ever grows a pair and admits that he's toooooootally in love with wick
and same with wick
and perry just walks out like "you have my blessing, carry on"
lewis is most definitely the only sane oneand perry being normal? ahahahaha he's lumped in with the crazies no matter how much he doesn't want to admit it to himself
"lewis. if you think i should do anything about it, then you can go into that room and fight her on it"
"you know, perry, i'm extremely loyal to you, but i don't have a death wish."
"and besides, i completely agree that our two gay friends should admit their gay feelings already"
"me too"
"i didn't even mention names!"
"perry. i, too, have eyes"
meanwhile, elysia: "too girly. too shiny. too much sparkle. why do all these rings suck. this is stupid. leo is stupid. wick is stupid. if they would just stop being stupid together already, they could be the ones looking at rings instead of me. this is stupid. fuck this. i'm just gonna start sending them anon letters telling them they're stupid. and also that they should just get married already."
*creys with you* adrian totally figures out who it is after like the second
he starts telling her to put certain things in the letters when they pass each other in hallways
like he's stationed near the dining room and elysia rushes past and he yells after her "mention how they always forget whose toothbrush is whose! because that's something that they definitely do!"
elysia yells back "you're my favorite not-nephew!"
