I'd like to recommend To Whatever End, by Claire Franks, a great new voice in fantasy fiction. (This is her debut novel, and it's quite a pot-boiler!)It's a wonderful read in a number of regards, not the least of which is that the protagonists are a happily-married couple! (Indeed, the crux of the book is to see how far one person will go to retrieve someting once it is lost to them.)
(I checked the bookshelf, and didn't see that it was read before, plus it's a fairly new release. If I missed it, my apologies.)
I'm going to nominate, "Wizard of the Pigeons, by Megan Lindholm. I found the theme very original, and a delicate balance between reality and fantasy storytelling. Liked it very much.
How have I not heard of "Elemnt of Fire"?Sounds pretty cool, as does "Mirror Empire".
I'll have to look at them both before I second one of them, though I'm adding them both to my "To-Read" queue.
I'll nominate Wheel of the Infinite been wanting to read for a long time but always seems to get pushed to the rear.
Nominated and seconded so farThe Mirror empire
To whatever end
The element of fire
The last wish
Wheel of the infinite
The Shadow of what was lost.
If we dont get any more then I may just use these . Another day peeps.
Sorry if I am a bit late but I would like to nominate The Shadow Of What Was Lost by James Islington.
