"No needles, unless it's really, really bad," Xavier promised. "But I don't think you'll need any. And I'll stay with you the whole time. Don't worry." Xavier walked quickly through the hallways, pushing open the familiar infirmary doors (let's just say, Xavier hadn't been the most graceful child). He called a nurse over and set Teddy on a nearby bed, pulling a chair up opposite where the nurse was standing, facing the back wall and Teddy only. "See? You'll be okay. I'll stay here until you're all done."

Teddy hid his face behind his hands, his little form trembling as the nurse approached them. It was very clear the idea of getting a shot of some nature terrified him.
"Well, hello there Lusca." the nurse said kindly, sitting on the edge of the bed to look at the youngest royal. Teddy refused to lift his hands and look at the nurse, so he turned his attentions to Xavier. "What is he being brought in for today? His next check up isn't for a few more months." he inquired.
"m'names Teddy..." Teddy whimpered out from between his fingers, edging back on the bed away from the nurse. "N-no shots!" he added, peeking between his fingers to stare at the nurse frightfully before hiding his gaze again.

Xavier nodded at Teddy. "No shots, I know." He turned his attention towards the nurse so he could reply, and hopefully get of the infirmary soon. "He had fallen down the staircase in the entrance hall, and hit his knee pretty bad. I only managed any cooperation for coming here because I said no shots unles it is really, really bad," Xacier said in a slightly lower voice as an almost warning that Teddy would freak about shots if he had to have any.
((Should we keep going until Red can get on, or should post the thing with Teddy seeing Aria and wait for her to get on?))

The nurse winced sympathetically. "Those stairs are made of marble, no wonder you brought him here. Its not something I'd want to fall on." he said after a moment. He moved closer to Teddy and said, "Alright, right now I just want to look at your knee, okay? Just my hands."
Teddy peeked at him through his fingers, still trembling. "B-but it h-hurts..." he whimpered, looking scared.
"I know, it must hurt a lot." the nurse said softly. "But I need to make sure your fall didn't give you a really bad injury. That's why i want to look at it. Is it okay if I do?"
Teddy hesitated, then nodded and said, "O-okay but....b-be careful."
"I'll be very careful." the nurse promised, moving to carefully push his pantleg out of the way. Teddy's knee was already swollen, the skin starting to darken with the promise of a very dark bruise. "Does it hurt to bend it?" he inquired, carefully investigating the knee with a very gentle touch.
Teddy nodded. "I-it hurts to move it at all..." he whimpered.
After a moment of examination and a few touches that made Teddy jerk away and whimper, the nurse turned to Xavier. "Well, nothing is broken." he said, to reassure him. "From the way the contusion is already darkening, and how it hurts him to move the joint, its likely he has some bad bruising to the muscles and the bone. I'd recommend just icing it and have him stay off his feet as often as possible. If it doesn't show signs of improvement in a week, bring him back and I'll take another look, as it would mean there is a high chance that he's got something wrong that the bruises are hiding."

Xavier watched nervously, though putting on a reassuring smile for Teddy. Nothing was broken, all he had to do was ice it. That would be easy. Keeping him in one place for most of the time, though, that was going to be a bit difficult. "Hey, at least you'll have more time practice your guitar! I might even be able to teach you some new things, if you'd like. Also, might we have some ice, then?" Xavier asked the nurse, staying positive for Teddy. Though it wasn't broken, a week staying mostly off of his feet was probably like torture to him. So perhaps guitar would help? Xavier leaned forward in his chair, placing his elbows on his knees while they waited for the nurse to come back.

Teddy was still quivering, his face hidden behind his hands even after the prognosis had been reached. He hated the infirmary, or to be more accurate, he feared it. It was an irrational fear, given that he was afraid of a place, of people, whose job it was to make him feel better when he was hurt or sick, but he couldn't help himself. He slowly lowered his hands after the nurse left to fetch the ice to look over at Xavier. He was on the verge of tears again as he sniffled, wiping at his face. "Y-you would.....t-teach me stuff...f-for the guitar?" he asked softly, his voice shaking. "I-I would like that..." he managed a small smile. The nurse came back with a small bag of ice wrapped in a towel. "Make sure to always wrap the ice before placing it on his knee, direct contact of the ice will do more harm than good, and don't leave it on for longer than 20 minutes at a time." the nurse instructed.

Xavier had had his hands clasped together as he grinned at Teddy, trying to make him feel better about all of this. It could've been so much worse, Xavier knew from experience that those stairs could do more damage than bruises. "Of course I will teach you. Anything you want. I could help you learn new songs, or perhaps just different techniques, even? Anything you would like, I'm up for. What's better than a week filled with guitar?" Xavier took the ice from the nurse and nodded, sending her a smile as thanks. "Thank you, and I'll make sure it happens. Did you hear that? You only have to ice it for about 15 minutes, all right? It's only ice, nothing serious. And you don't even have to leave your bed to do it!" Xavier said to Teddy, with an almost surprising amount of enthusiasm from his usual self.

Teddy wiped his face of tears as he smiled at Xavier. "I-I know what's better than a week filled with guitar." he said, his voice returning to its cheerful tone. "A week spent with my big brother, Xavier!" he looked over at the nurse as she came back, biting his lip, but being distracted by his brother once more. "Ice is cold though...." he said, pouting in a cute way that hinted he wasn't really upset. He was happy to have a chance to play with his brother, even if his knee really hurt. "I wanna learn more songs!" he added happily, his brother's cheerful tone making him smile.

Xavier laughed joyfully at Teddy. How was his little brother always able to make him this happy and excited? He had been able to do that -without even trying- his entire life. Even when Teddy was a baby, Xavier was happier being around him rather than not. "I think," Xavier said, "that I completely agree with that." Xavier moved the ice on to Teddy's knee, keeping the blanket over it so that the ice wasn't directly on the bruises, as that would make it worse. "Aw, you'll have the best week ever. Don't worry. And alright, any songs in particular? Or do you just want to learn more?"

Teddy grinned more when Xavier laughed. He loved that he was able to make Xavier happy, as far back as he could remember, he was the one able to make his big brother smile. He almost moved to wiggle happily on the bed, then stopped, not wanting to hurt his knee with the movement. He loved any time he was able to spend with Xavier, so having a whole week with him was enough to make him want to explode in excitement. "I want to learn to play more songs that you like." he told him, his eyes dancing.

Xavier almost let out a laugh as Teddy squirmed in the infirmary bed, already too excited to keep still. "Careful, don't move too much, remember?" He held the ice down so it wouldn't move too much, even if Teddy did. "More songs that I like? Alright, that sounds like a good plan. Perhaps a few more Beatles -you can never know too many of their songs-, should we just start with those? We can always add more later on, or change the songs up over the week. Whatever you like." Xavier sat back in thought, trying to come up with songs that were on the easier side for Teddy, but still advanced enough to be challenging. And they had to be fun, of course.

Teddy froze. He had not exactly forgotten about his injured knee, it was not something one could easily forget, but his excitement had moved forefront to his mind rather than thinking of his injury. He relaxed back against the bed, though he was still feeling rather restless. But, he wasn't trying to hurt himself more...
He looked up at Xavier when he talked about the songs. "I would love to learn more Beatles songs!" he said enthusiastically. He'd had a lot of fun figuring out the one that he'd played for Xavier, and had no doubt that learning the others would be the same. "I think it would be a great start."

it really doesn't matter either way))

Xavier grinned at this, seeing how enthusiastic his little brother was to be able to share something special just with him. "Alright, sounds like a plan. We left my guitar on the staircase, so I'm going to go and get that and the case now, just so it isn't broken somehow or something else happens to it. Think of some songs you might want to start, and I will too, and then we can start tomorrow? Those twenty minutes are almost up already, so we should just save the first lesson for tomorrow." He let go of the ice pack after making sure Teddy had it on the right spot, and stood up. "I'll see you later, Teddy!" Xavier exclaimed as he began walking towards the front of the infirmary and out the doors.
