Here's where we can discuss those books on the lists, both 101 list and the children's collections, that either have sequels or are part of a series. There are quite a few of these on the children's list in particular. Most of them are the first in a series. Some of us may want to continue reading on in the series, especially if it's a short one (I don't plan to read all the books in the Boxcar Children or Nancy Drew series, for example) and here is where we can discuss how to do that, for whoever is interested.

I am exempting the Harry Potter series from this as nearly all of them are on the list to begin with, so we will just read the entire series together as a group at some point, perhaps as a side project.

Anyone interesting in completing The Giver series with me over the summer? I think I'm going to start book 2, Gathering Blue, in the next week or two. Anyone care to join?

I just haven't gotten around to the Giver series yet: got caught up in Wrinkle in Time, though, so I think I WILL continue on with that. Any takers on A Wind in the Door?

Shannon Lionheart | 4 comments I"ve never been able to complete a full series. I loved the first Mary poppins but thought it was fine as a stand alone. Im currently working on the Narnia series book 4.

Many times the later books in a series just aren't as good as the earlier ones, so I can see why someone might not finish them. I always feel compelled to finish, but that's one of my shortcomings :)
