Agnieszka wrote: "Welcome Angela, it's also my first time :-) "Agnieszka, welcome to you too! I hope you have a wonderful time and I am happy I spelt your name right! I hope I did anyways! I am a former teacher so it is in my nature to slaughter poor people's names. :) No name is safe with me!
Carla and I are going to read books from the Body Farm series. She is going to read Book #1, Carved in Bone, and since I've read the series except for the newest, that's what I'm going to read, #9 The Breaking Point.
Kelby wrote: "Autumn, can you please message me? I tried sending you one but it wouldn't let me."Just messaged you!
My book pal and I are reading The Woman In White. I'm really enjoying it. Last year I read Wilkie Collins' other book, The Moonstone.
Ishita and I will read Ripley Under Ground together, but first I will read The Talented Mr. Ripley to catch up. I hope I like it, it's a 2 book investment =}First I'm finishing The Hunger Games (PIFM winner) which I'm enjoying very much.
Kelby is going to partner up with her original partner and me. We will be reading Always Watching by the amazing Chevy Stevens. Looking forward to this read and discussion!
I have finished my book fantastic read very heartwarming yet tragic at the same time but loved the book gave it five stars
I finished my book " The shadow of the wind " yesterday. What an amazing book!!! I loved the story so much, and the characters were fascinating.. I felt so involved with the story that i felt a kind of emptiness after finishing it!!I enjoyed a lot my conversations with my bookpal and i was glad we felt the same about a lot of details and twists :)
I've been a party pooper. I got around 1/3 into Ripley #1 and just didn't think I could do a second one. It was ok, well written, interesting, but... for me not worth committing to a sequel. We decided to go another direction with "Little Black Lies" Ishita has been very accommodating.
I was Faouzia's book pal and I also finished Shadow of the Wind. I absolutely loved the book! I'm so glad it was on her to-read shelf. :) The story was intriguing and you fall in love with the characters. I'm recommending this to everyone. :)For my first book pal I thought this was great! We did have very similar ideas and opinions. This was fun! :)
Angela wrote: "Thanks for sharing that Josen, I've added that book to my "To Read" list. :-)"Great! I hope you enjoy it! :)
I am Jamies book pal this month, I have just finished the book we chose to read. I am so grateful to Jamie for choosing it because it make me read a book that I had waiting around for ages, MY OWN instead of a book I needed to review for an author or publishing house, so I loved and enjoyed myself. Waiting for Jamies review now
Sadly noy heard from Scott yet.

Just finished The Good Girl a couple of days ago. I liked this one, chapters were short and it kept a good pace and kept my interest. Will check out her other book as the premise to that looks good also.
Bryan and I was reading
My impression is that the book started off slow giving you so much detail about Algeria, OAS, and other secret services. This book is a true story; therefore, to me it starts to get good when the Jackal enters the novel. It kept me in suspense and excitement because I did not know the Jackal's next move or how clever he could be to alter his plans when necessary.
The French police working with other countries' security forces to track one man seems unreal. But, the respect people of different backgrounds have for a person's abilities, talents, and skills can bridge continents. This is what the Jackal was able to accomplish with his mission of assassinating the French President, for money only, in 1963.
My favorite quotes from the book are:
"You don't understand," he told the lawyer, "no squad of Frenchmen will raise their rifles against me." He was wrong. The execution was reported on the 8 a.m. news of Radio Number One in French.
Thomas settled back in the armchair to try and get some sleep. While he had been talking it had quietly become August 15.
No one volunteered. The meeting broke up as usual around midnight. Within thirty minutes it had become Friday, August 16.
As the two men looked towards each other unknowingly above the waters of the Seine, the varied chimes of the churches of Paris ushered in August 22.
As he turned the key in the lock and caught the first shrill rebuke of his wife, the clock chimed midnight and it was August 23.
......., a solitary little figure, to return to his wife and children.
The day of the Jackal was over.
I forgot to post my thoughts! I finished Always Watching by Chevy Stevens. I thought it was excellent! The reviews for this book were mixed to say the least. Some said it read like a report, others loved it. I was on the loved it team. I thought it was a story that grabbed you from the very beginning. It took you through all the emotions: worry, nervousness, fear, sadness, anger, and joy. In the end I wanted to cry I was so happy. I thought this was another hit by Stevens and I look forward to more books by her.
Apologies to my August Book Pal! Just finished reading/listening to The Woman in White
by Wilkie Collins. I really enjoyed it, but I thought THE MOONSTONE was better. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

** Just a Tip - I like to give my partner at least three books to choose from with one being my top choice. That way they have some freedom as well.
