Well Prim is from the Hunger Games, and I think the story's going to be about five girls, Primrose, December, Crystal, Noel and Holiday, but the red headed girl is the main one.
I like "Noelle" and "December". Em or Emma or Emi is cute for short.
Or you could make her more realistic and have her called what her parents named her?
Sparks of iceFive girls. Five stories. Five kingdoms. Five challenges.
Holiday. Crystal. Primrose. December. Noel.
When Holiday was chosen, she jumped up and down.
When Crystal was chosen, she cried. And she cried.
When Primrose was chosen, she was up for the challenge, although a little nervous.
When December was chosen, she felt fierce and determined to win.
But when Noel was chosen, her whole world flipped upside down.
Being chosen in the Snow Competitions might be a dream to you, or it might be your greatest nightmare.
Every year, each of the five kingdoms pick one girl to compete in the Snow Competitons. The Snow Competitions consist of five challenges, each involving snow and icy powers. They must pass the icicles, travel across the Snowy River, achieve the Stone of Snow, survive the ice storm and compete with their oppenents for the Treasure of Victory, which will change their lives forever. But along the way, they'll lose something they cherish.
Who will win the Snow Competitions?

{Prologue}
It was one snowy evening in the kingdom of Cadway, and a hooded figure entered the Cadway Castle. The hooded figure held a big bowl full white pieces of parchment, in which had little visible pencil marks. "It is time, Sir, to pick the girls," the hooded figure whispered, which left smoke from the cold as he spoke.
The man remarked as Sir turned around in his chair and faced his servant. "Ah - yes, it is indeed that time of the year. Flies by quickly," he said. "Put the bowl on the table."
King Henry was going to pick two names from the bowl. The second one was going to be very famous in the history of the Snow Competitions and would compete, just as the other four from the other four kingdoms would be.
His servant placed the bowl in front of him, being careful not to drop it. After all, it weighed a ton. There were hundreds of names. "There you are," he said.
King Henry grinned. "Thank you," he said. He put his hand inside the bowl and mixed it up, running his fingers along the paper. The first name wouldn't be it, but you're supposed to pick two, even though the first was pointless. He grabbed on one piece and looked down on it, and read aloud the name.
"Millicent McDaniel," he read. "Millicent won't be competing, not this year." King Henry looked back down at the bowl and sighed. This was it. No matter what name it was, no matter who it was, this was the person who everyone would know the name of.
Very carefully, King Henry reached inside the bowl and started stirring his hand through all the names. This was it. This was it, the very person. The girl. He settled on one piece, uncrumpled it and read the name aloud.
"Noel Crescent."
Ohhhhhhh I love her name! This is really good I'm definitely going to be reading along!!!!! :D :D :D
I'm just a little confused on how they pick the names...are two names picked by each kingdom, the first not used and the second used or something?
I'm just a little confused on how they pick the names...are two names picked by each kingdom, the first not used and the second used or something?
None, like it says. They just do that for whatever reason. Maybe the first person will know that they were almost picked? There isn't any purpose, really.
{Chapter 1: Holiday}
It was a Friday morning in the kingdom of Faelynn, and twelve year old Holiday Singer was in her room, humming to the tune of a song she just made up with her best friend.
Holiday kept on bopping her head and dancing, using a hairbrush as a microphone. "Bada-bada bow bow! Bada-bada-bada bow bow! You are, you are, the-" she raised her arms up and down like a rock star.
"Holiday?" Mrs. Singer called for her only daughter from the kitchen table.
"Yeah?" Holiday asked, sighing as she had to pause her song.
"Come here, we need to talk to you!" Mrs. Singer said.
"Coming!" Holiday exclaimed, and ran out of her bedroom into the messy kitchen, humming her song. But it suddenly came to a big interruption. Since she noticed her mother and father sitting down on the chairs of the kitchen table, with tears rolling down their cheeks. They looked like they'd just witnessed a murder, or something terrible, or shocking.
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, Mom! Dad! What happened?!" Holiday gasped. She almost cried at the sight of this, it was very scary seeing her parents like this. They were usually bright, friendly people.
"I'll tell her," Mr. Singer glanced at Mrs. Singer.
Mrs. Singer sadly nodded and stared at Holiday, preparing for how miserable their corky, happy daughter would become.
"You got picked for the S-snow C-c-competitions," Mr. Singer announced, stuttering as he spoke. It was hard to tell her, but he had to get it over with. She had to find out.
"Seriously?!" Holiday widened her eyes, gasping for breath. It was difficult to tell if it was excitement or misery.
"We are really sorry, Holly. But there's nothing we can do to stop it," Mrs. Singer sniffed. "Our world is very difficult to live with, it's a hunger game every day. Out of the thousand girls it could've been, it was you." she said, even though that wasn't something to make someone much better.
"OH MY GOSH, YES!" Holiday exclaimed, jumped up and down. "I have always wanted to do this - it always seems like so much fun! It's awesome! Woo hoo!"
"What? Holly, honey, I don't think you quite realize how extremely dangerous the S.C is. Some of the people have died from it! Actually, almost everyone has died from it," Mr. Singer said. He usually believed in his daughter, but didn't in this case. He doubted that she would survive. He almost wanted her to cry, because he didn't want her to get excited for something like this.
"I've got to try, Dad. I have got to try. Maybe, just maybe, when I win, we'll be the richest people in the world because of me! I can make you proud. Both of you," Holiday smiled. "Now, let me tell Opal the news."
As Holiday ran out the door to her best friend's house, Mr. and Mrs. Singer frowned. Their daughter had no idea about the dangers of the Snow Competitions.
I'm working on December's chapter, then I'm going to do Crystal's, then Primrose, then Noel. Each of their POV on them finding out that they got picked.
This one won't be as good.{Chapter 2: December}
There was a knock on the front door of the house of the four Blanchards, located in the kingdom of Victoire. "Em?" the seventeen year old red-headed girl at the door asked.
December Blanchard rushed over to the front door and opened it to see her friend Anna, who she has known since being thirteen years old. "Hey Anna!" she said.
"Hi Em! How are you?" Anna grinned, happy to see her. Although December could be rude and offensive towards her, but Anna was too afraid to admit it.
December ignored the last part rudely. "So let's go on the porch," December said, holding the door open for Anna as they sat on some lawn chairs on the front porch.
"So, anyways... I got picked for the S.C!" Anna suddenly exclaimed after a few seconds of silence. She had this little smile on her face, it quite obvious she was lying.
"What?!" December gasped in shock. She couldn't believe this - Anna? Out of her hundreds of friends? Anna wouldn't survive a minute. Would she?
Anna quickly nodded, grinning with pride. Or, fake pride, which it was. "I'm going to be-"
December laughed and elbowed Anna in the shoulder. "No you weren't! You weren't picked!" she exclaimed, mad that she believed her for a second.
"No, I wasn't," Anna smiled. Em had always been popular, competitive, smart and liked. Anna wondered how she'd do if she was chosen for the Snow Competitions. She could see her winning and being more popular and famous than she already was.
"Don't trick me like that!" December said. "So what's new?" she asked. "Are you still with that guy? Ooh, and how was Camp Lakemore?"
Anna frowned. "Oh no, he - um, Em?" she asked, eyeing something many steps away from December's left.
December turned her head around to see a man walking towards her, carrying an envelope. "I've never seen him before. I wonder what's he's doing?"
"Maybe you were picked!" Anna laughed. "Maybe you're the heir of the S.C!"
"I doubt it," December rolled her eyes, unamused. Anna was too dumb and childish for her. But if she, herself, was the... no, she couldn't. It was most likely just mail, possibly from her grandmother.
The elderly man walked up to December and gave her the envelope. "Here. Give this to December Blanchard," he said, in a grumpy unfriendly way, frowning.
"I am her," December said. She was quite offended - how could this man not know the girl who is everyone's friend, the popular smart cheerleader, winner of the school sporting teams, and top student?
"Oh, well, in that case, December - this letter's, uh, pretty life changing," the man said. He took his cane and started limping back down the road, leaving December and Anna puzzled.
December started tearing the top of the letter off. "Well, I better open it," she said. "Hopefully, it's not a death trap, since he said it was life changing!" she laughed.November 2nd, 2015
December Blanchard
12 Flowers St.
North Victoire, Norwington
Dear Ms. December,
You have been chosen to compete in this year's Snow Competitions. It shall debut on Saturday, November 14th, in which we will expect you by the eleventh by noon. If you arrive later than expected, there will be severe consequences which may contain minor death.
Day 1 will be meeting your opponents from the four other kingdoms, all that. You will start to get familiar with how things work here in the S.C. An introduction to your upcoming events. Day 2 will be training and learning about your competitions. We have your equipment already, do not bring a thing. Day 3 will be preparing and getting ready. We will have to doll you up and change your appearance.
You will meet in Cadway Kingdom in the castle on Day 1, where we shall
take off from.
Best wishes!
Sincerely yours,
Queen Isabelle and King Victor of the Victoire Kingdom.
December had to read it over a few times to fully understand that she would be competing. That she was the girl. She was excited, and knew her whole life would pay off. She wouldn't die, she'd win. She knew it. "Anna!" she said. "I got chosen!"
"You're kidding, right?" Anna asked. She assumed she was kidding, but it could be possible.
"No, look!" December exclaimed, and gave Anna the letter to read for herself.
A moment later, Anna gasped after skimming through it. "Oh my gosh, Em!" She put her arm around December and hugged her. "You are so going to win. I sure hope you do, because you deserve it!"
December smirked. "Oh, of course I'm going to win."
Pretty short.{Chapter 3: Crystal}
In her living room in the kingdom of Windsay sat Crystal White, humming the beat of a calm, sad sounding song.
Crystal was gazing into the mirror, at her reflection, thinking about everything she had acheived in the sixteen years of her life. "Look at me," she thought. "I'm hopeless. I'm alone."
It was true, Crystal was alone. She had a harsh history, but it was her own privacy and no else knew. Except for the people that were involved with it, but they were dead.
Sometimes she'd spend helpless hours staring at her reflection, but she believed she had no reason not to. She was disliked. Nobody liked the poor, miserable Crystal, but no one else hardly knew who she was other than that she was poor, miserable and her name was Crystal.
The doorbell rang, and there was a knock on the door. Crystal peeked through the curtains to see a woman, holding an envelope.
Crystal sighed. She wanted to be alone. Well, she was every day, but she still just wanted to be alone and think for the millionth hour. What did the woman want? She walked to the front door and opened it.
"Hello," the woman said. "This is from the Windsay kingdom. Good luck with... it," she said, putting the letter in Crystal's hand. She turned her back and started to walk away.
Good luck? What was that supposed to mean? From the kingdom? The kingdom and luck? It was very quick, and very cryptic. That could only mean one thing, but Crystal was too scared of the thought.
Crystal walked back in, closed the front door and sat back down on the couch. She took a deep breath, and started to open the letter.
The Snow Competitions was on the top.
Crystal gasped and she started to cry. She read the letter, and after that sat on the couch, with crumpeled tissues all around her, as tears rolled down her cheeks. She cried for hours. It wasn't less than an hour that had passed that Crystal had stop crying.
She lives alone in a tiny house, poor, and now she has to man up and become the heroine of the whole kingdom? So not happening. Never mind being the heroine in her past.
O.O WOW this is really great! All the characters so far are really different and have different reactions to the letters, and I think that's really great, showing.....all that....yeah keep going!! :D
Thank you! Which one has been your favourite to read about so far: Holiday, December or Crystal?Yup! I'm trying to make them all different, although I'm not quite sure how Noel's going to be. So far I have happy, sassy, and sad, and then I'm going to make shy and then... something I come up with, whatever it is. I have a few ideas - you'll see! :)
