Kavya wrote: "yup.. it'll be hard for those doing the booktubeathon.. Also I thought we had Amy and Roger's epic detour for July - August"We do, but I'm not sure whether or not there's going to be a liveshow for it still. I'll probably do another one of these for the two off months too.
It's not on my TBR because I'm yet to acquire it (should be in the mail somewhere).
Maybe we can do it from the 10th/16th then? Because a lot of people are probably joining the Booktubeathon, at least I am.

That would be awesome!
maybe we should make some challenges to set at least a goal to read, like the first challenge could be the smallest book on your tbr or something?
What about challenges? I have some ideas!
~ A book by an author you've never read before
~ A book which is hyped at the moment
~ A book which is set in your country
~ A debut novel
~ A popular children book you've never read
~ A summer book
I'd like to give this a go, but doing both the Booktube-a-thon and the #ayearathon this week so I may not end up getting through much for this readathon. However if it can push me to finish more of my "currently reading" books that'd be great!

Those are some really great challenges! I think I'll put in one for each day.
My main personal goal is to read a book a day to catch up my TBR.
I will be hosting twitter sprints, I'll use the hashtag: #LITTLEBOOKCLUBATHON follow me on twitter @Foxyfangirling so you don't miss out! (Maybe @Allie can put it up above so people don't miss it)
I think something you don't see everywhere, something unique and I think it's mostly supposed to be abstract to you
Hmm ok. I don't forsee finishing 7 books so I'll start with 5 and if by any miracle I get through those then I'll pick a couple more.
covering challenges (in order):author never read, graphic novel, current season, classic, abstract cover
Ready on twitter. TBR to the max.
Just bought a crap tonne more books in case I want to spice things up.
LET'S DO THIS!
The first tweet is up! Follow me so you won't miss the twitter sprints: @Foxyfangirling and also keep track of the #LITTLEBOOKCLUBATHON! https://twitter.com/Foxyfangirling/st...

I'm @Captivheart on Twitter! I may host a few sprints in the middle of the day AEST. Foxyreading is also hosting sprints in CEST. Any important information Foxyreading posts I'm also retweeting with converted AEST times.
So the readathon has come to a close for me! I would've liked to have a bit more time to read and also host more reading sprints, but what can you do? I managed to finish: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Watchmen and The Sea of Monsters. Also got about halfway through I Am the Messenger. Definitely could've read more if I'd had the time/hadn't been so tired. Although I'm quite happy with my progress.
I managed to complete the challenges for day one, two, three and seven :)
How'd you guys go?
Books mentioned in this topic

As Caz has posted that life has gotten in the way (as it so often does) of her ability to keep organising this group, I'm suggesting we organise an August readathon!
The theme will be small books - up to about 400pgs - to really help anyone who (like me) is struggling to keep up to date with their yearly reading goals.
EDIT: The readathon will go from the 10th-16th of August.
Post below your TBR and how you're going with the reading :)
CHALLENGES
Each day has a challenge assigned to it, though you don't have to complete that book in the one day. If the book you choose applies to multiple challenges that's great! The challenges are to make it a bit more fun, thanks to the suggestions of a few people down below!
Complete as many of the challenges as you can in the week!
DAY ONE: Read a book by an author you've never read before
DAY TWO: Read a popular children's book
DAY THREE: Read a graphic novel
DAY FOUR: Read a book for your current season (e.g. Australia = Winter; America = Summer)
DAY FIVE: Read a classic
DAY SIX: Read a book with a lot of hype at the moment
DAY SEVEN: Read a book with an abstract cover
My TBR:
Author I've never read:
Children's book:
Graphic novel:
Classic:
Hype:
Abstract cover:
And I also want to read:
