- Once all columns of a goal have been filled out a new goal will appear within 5 minutes.
- Do not change existing pages. You may add a new page to your spreadsheet if you want to track additional information.
- Mark books as used in your books list once they are used for a goal.
- Only books read during the current round may be applied towards goals, once the round has ended those books may no longer be used for a goal.
- Once you merge teams, you may use your books for your partner teams goals. List them in your books list and on their goals sheet. Mark them as used.
- If you end up with more than 3 open goals, contact a moderator for help.
Sorry, nobody gets it easy. You are Gladiator. You are stepping into that arena ready or not. And fight till your last breath :POK, don't worry. It sounds more complicated then it is. All you need to do is read books, post what you are reading and if/how it fits tasks we get.
Oh, and watch page numbers.
For starters, create new shelf (if you didn't already) and post link to it here. We are asking for new shelf only so it's easier for us to check what you are reading/have read.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...Let me know if this doesn't work but that should link to my shelf! I'm ready for the challenge Captain!
Nah, I'm only cocaptain. And until our captain shows up, I'll reserve few places in case we'll need them later.
Hi everyone! I am checking in. This is my first time doing a challenge like this one but really excited to get started. It is really nice to meet everyone. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but I am in EST time zone. I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio. Where is everyone else from?Okay, my gladiator shelf is gladiator but pretty sure you have it already. Thanks Megan for being captain and Tea for being co-captain!
The master spreadsheet and team spreadsheet has been added to the beginning of your team thread.
Captains and co-captains should message the moderator account with their team name and google doc e-mail to be added to the approved editors of the team spreadsheet.

I noticed that one of our Defense goals is to read a book with a character that starts with a C. I am getting ready to read a book that is for a Bingo challenge I am doing and it has a character named Cian in it. If I wait until Sunday to start reading it can I use it for that goal?
hi everyone and thank you for taking part! I have a book called 'The Magicians' Guild'; would that help for the goal for a book beginning with the letter M?

Yes, you can. :)
Hayley wrote: "hi everyone and thank you for taking part! I have a book called 'The Magicians' Guild'; would that help for the goal for a book beginning with the letter M?"Yes it'll help as long as you don't start reading it before challenge starts.
Megan wrote: "Alyssa! Hey, we were on Team Aquamarine together! :)"Reunion time! I cannot wait for this! :)
Megan, any idea on strategy? :)Do you want to go with tasks, who reads first gets it, or leave it for those that 'reserved it'?
I'm fast reader and I'm mood reader, so don't really expect me to tell you what I'm going to read upfront :P

No problem, will do!
Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be on this team. I can't believe I missed sign ups for this one and I'm glad I was still able to get on a team! I haven't really looked at the rules yet, but I'm going to check this all out today or tomorrow and get going. :)
So, the next book I'm going to start is Lighter than My Shadow, a graphic novel. It's over 500 pages, but how do I verify it meets the rules?
Wow, great job Megan! It is great to know you can still go back and use books read for goals as long as it is in the same round. Thanks for the info!
@Catherine, is there a way for you to find out word count? In cases of graphic novels we are using that to figure page number.Edit:
By what we managed to see in preview on Amazon, it doesn't look like it has enough words for it to count (minimum is 40000). Can you verify word count anywhere? I couldn't find it.

a flick through doesn't look like it's a word heavy book. I won't be able to use it :(
but! I am now reading The Truth, by Terry Pratchett. Can the dwarf printer be classed as a trades[person] d'ya think?

Drink that chamomile tea I got you. - pg 109
Current tasks:Read a book that starts with the letter M
Read a book where a character is a tradesperson
Read a book that contains the word parsley
Megan wrote: "❀Hey, I clinked the link for the graphic novel Catherine wants to read, and the page count on Goodreads is 509. So does that not count? I always thought it did.... "It doesn't matter that it says 500+ pgs on GR. It's graphic novel, so it doesn't have much text but more images. With graphic novels, children books, poems and similar things we have to go by word count.

You didn't put it on your shelf
I might not be online much in next two days. I'm going to visit my folks, so tomorrow I'm traveling and day later it'll probably be full of visits and people *sigh*I will be reading and I'll try to check in when I can. Just don't worry if you don't see me for few days :)
Whilst I can't use Lighter than My Shadow for the challenge, it is really good and totally recommended.
Tea, enjoy the visiting! I've had a hectic few weeks with the socialising, and family events I couldn't get out of even if I wanted. It's been fun, but putting a real cramp in my reading!
