It's taken me nearly a month to get through this book, and part of me is relieved to have finally reached the end. A friend who reads mysteries first recommended An Instance of the Fingerpost to me years ago, but I was deterred by its length and not that interested in the premise. I'm glad I finally read it, though. The book's not my usual cup of tea, but it is well-written, engaging, and seems excellently researched. I'm in awe of the writer's ability to craft a mystery and then reveal its truths chapter by chapter through four points of view.

Taryn (taryn_fry) | 169 comments I got nothing really - I struggled to finish this book. I thought it was really well written, but I just couldn't get into it. I did really like the different points of view, though usually that technique annoys me. I think it worked well here though.
