Lanelle | 462 comments Each month we will read a public domain book in a certain genre, about a particular subject, or by an chosen author. Report which book or story you've decided to read. Feel free to discuss what you're reading and the author's writing style. Don't forget to leave a review of your selected work.

August's chosen author is Jack London.

Lanelle | 462 comments Ah, the hazards of copy and paste :) Thanks for catching that, Mark.

Lanelle | 462 comments I started to read Smoke Bellew. It got confusing right away, so I stopped.

Then I found a book of short stories, Lost Face. One of the stories caught my attention. It was "That Spot". I highly recommend it. One reviewer said that it reminded him of O. Henry's "The Ransom of Red Chief", and I see why. I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading.

If I read any more of the short stories, I'll let you know what I think of them.
