Hi. Just wanted to say I am about three quarters of the way thru and am quite enjoying the story. I love the history, this author makes it interesting. :)
That's awesome Maggie! What are your thoughts on alternative history in fiction? Do you think this Nielson has done his/her homework?
I have to say I know some of the history Nielson is talking about but really she could be making it up and I wouldn't know. :) I do believe though this writer/author knows her stuff really well and has a really good way of blending events and creating whole new possibilities. I love when an author uses alternative history in fiction, I love a new perspective on things and connecting things that maybe haven't been before.
I loved how she incorporated the history into the story. It made me feel like I was able to follow the story a little better by knowing the reason behind certain things
I will post my review later today, but my favorite part was the allusions to Jane Eyre and Great Expectations. The image of the Satis House truly creeped me out!
