Anna I love to read anywhere where I can see and here the rain. Just imagine being cuddled up, nice cuppa tea and a rainy atmosphere. Perfect!

message 2: by Terese (new)

Terese My favorite place doesn't exist anymore - at my grandparents apartment, in one of the big, ugly, brown armchairs. Classical music in the background, grandpa next to me doing a crossword puzzle... perfection :D

But I still get that feeling sometimes reading, snuggling up, with some tea, a book and as you mentioned - a rainy atmosphere :)

The only place where I don't really like reading is on the bus, cause I get car sick then,... thank you audiobooks for saving me in those situations :D

message 3: by Anna (new)

Anna I'm sorry your favourite place doesn't exist anymore. Have you got anywhere that even comes close?

I hate reading while I am traveling. I also get motion sickness. I try to read on my lunch sometimes, but I am easily distracted.

Austin | 16 comments I also hate reading while traveling. I get distracted very easily. I love reading in my bedroom. It seems like the only place I can actually read is in my house. I too love when there is a rainy atmosphere.

I like reading anywhere in my apartment. On the balcony, in bed, on the floor, on the couch... anywhere I can move around, haha, I like shifting my positions :) It's not really close but then, nothing's ever close to what one remembers it was like as a child :)

message 6: by Anna (new)

Anna I wish I had a balcony. I am on the ground floor so don't have one. Jealous.

I used to read a lot in bed before I went to sleep. I would always wake up with the book on me.

message 7: by Austin (new)

Austin | 16 comments I have a patio. i like to read out there sometimes. But I also live in texas so currently I cannot do that because of the 100+ weather everyday. reading before bed is the best. It's also very relaxing after a long day.

message 8: by Anna (new)

Anna How do you cope with the heat!? That is too hot.

Catherine Johnstone (livinginsidefiction) | 21 comments I have like this arch think that holds the ceiling up in my room and my beds in the corner where it the two walls meet and I like to curl up in that corner on my bed and no one can see me and it's just super comfy

Angel | 2 comments In the middle of nowhere.

message 11: by Anna (new)

Anna Jealous. I want a hidden place to hide. That sounds amazing. Is it an old house?

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna Angel wrote: "In the middle of nowhere."

In the middle of nowhere?

message 13: by Austin (new)

Austin | 16 comments Lots of water and a good AC. Also, rarely going outside. Haha. But if you do, lots of water.

message 14: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Johnstone (livinginsidefiction) | 21 comments No, it's about 25 years old? Idk, we had an extension, hence the arch being needed ;)

Oh I see. I just imagined it being old with the arch.... hehe

Austin | 16 comments Yeah I bet. I went to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland after my graduation from high school and was glad it was so cool... well, actually I guess 60's and 70's is normal temp isn't it. I wouldn't know. haha. Texas is always scorching hot.

I guess since I moved, I don't really have a favourite place. I just read anywhere really, as long as it's not in a loud place.

Loud places are the worst. I end up reading the sane sentence over and over again.

I would love to do a bit of traveling and read a good book at the same time.

message 21: by Austin (new)

Austin | 16 comments It was fun. It was hard to read on the planes and trains and cars though. The only time I could read was in the hotel rooms.

Same here. Noises are very distracting.

message 23: by Anna (new)

Anna I can't read whilst in cars. I get motion sickness.

message 24: by Shirlee (new)

Shirlee Chia (shirleechia) | 4 comments Definitely on the bed! Or one of those sofas long enough for me to lay down!

message 25: by Anna (new)

Anna I have a corner sofa which I snuggle up into and read sometimes. I love reading in bed but always get to comfy and end up falling asleep.

message 26: by Nick (new)

Nick | 7 comments Love to read on holiday, at the pool or at the beach, in the garden and in the train when I'm going to school! Just put on some relaxing music and read a good (war)book!

message 27: by Anna (new)

Anna I can't concentrate with noise in the background whilst reading. I am on holiday next month so excited to read on the beach.

message 28: by Nick (new)

Nick | 7 comments I don't have that, Well i can read basicly anywhere. I read even in school haha! I also enjoy reading outside a cafe with a nice cup of coffee!

message 29: by Anna (new)

Anna I love coffee, can't get enough of it. The smell is amazing.

I try to read at work but always get distracted.

message 30: by Nick (new)

Nick | 7 comments Read at work? Haha! Shouldn't you working?

message 31: by Jerry (new)

Jerry (jerryflavin) | 1 comments You just mentioned my two absolute favorite things; a fresh brewed cup of coffee and a good book. Man, it doesn't get better than that!

message 32: by Terese (new)

Terese Reading + coffee! I'm there!

message 33: by Nick (new)

Nick | 7 comments Well it seems that when you read books you like coffee, or visa versa!

message 34: by Anna (new)

Anna Nick wrote: "Read at work? Haha! Shouldn't you working?"

I should be working but choose not to! lol.

message 35: by Anna (new)

Anna Teresa wrote: "Reading + coffee! I'm there!"

Me too! All nice and curled up. It doesn't get any better.

message 36: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) I Love to read before bed but I also like reading out doors like driving up to the mountains and just enjoy nature and enjoy reading

message 37: by Anna (new)

Anna I can't believe you can just drive up the mountain and hide with a book. That is just amazing. Maybe share a photo?

message 38: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) I defiantly will for sure I'll see if I have one on my phone

message 39: by Monica (new)

Monica | 9 comments I usually have a chaise lounge but I am in-between homes right now, (waiting for a loan to close), so now I read in bed. As soon as I can get my chaise out of storage, I can't wait to get back to my reading spot. Sometimes I wish I had one of those nice wide, cushy windows seats, like you see on Pinterest. ;)

message 40: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) @Monica I always wanted one of those window seats lol

message 41: by Anna (new)

Anna Oh the good old window seat. I think everyone wants one of them.

message 42: by Monica (new)

Monica | 9 comments Monica wrote: "@Monica I always wanted one of those window seats lol"

Aren't they fabulous! Sigh. Maybe one day.

message 43: by Mona (new)

Mona (monna8) hopefully one day :)

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) The car! I love burying myself in a novel while sitting in a bus, train, car, or plane. :)

message 45: by Rosemarie (new)

Rosemarie Margaret, I can read in any of the places you mentioned except the car. My favourite place to read is in the shade, outside, but I can only do that a few months of the year.
