Two books won for the monthly book read for August. We don't necessarily have to read both, but discuss The Screaming Staircase on this thread please.

I started listening to the audio. Still in the first few chapters, its interesting. There was actually a part where I kinda got scared. hahahaha...

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I'm so glad that you liked it. I thought that it was a great read and didn't want to return it to the library. The third book comes out soon and it's supposed to provide more of Locke's backstory.

the audio is actually pretty good. I want to see if my library has the other book.

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts when your done.

I am done. I thought it was solid 3.5 star read. I liked the premise of the book. I felt it was unique and interesting. I also like the 3 main protagonists. I did have trouble following in some parts and am not sure if it was the book or my brain was just wondering at that moment. All in all it was a great pick Becky!

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments The book itself has some helpful info in the back. Definitions and stuff. If it was the plot itself, then the hardcopy won't help.

Oh good to know Becky. I listened to it and it had some definitions at the end but I skipped it.

Becky (bek11) | 451 comments I guess what I loved most about it was the three main protagonists and how they interact with each other. I'm just a sucker for a group of good friends (if they are well written.)

They were a good group Becky.

I gave it a 3.5 as well. It was pretty good!

I wasn't that partial to Lucy I have to admit. She's not bad, but there are times that she annoyed me. I enjoyed her relationship with the two tho.

What I enjoyed the most about the book is the description of the creepy surroundings. I actually want to continue the series if my library has more of its audio.
