If anyone's interested, I found this website where you can create a customized writing plan and track your progress: http://pacemaker.press/index.html?
That's really awesome! I lost the link, but someone made downloadable excel sheets that were word counters, where you could set goals. They're really useful. :)
I will probably start alphabetizing the folders soon, so if your folder moves, that's why. (My OCD has been going crazy because of the randomness, and I can't stand it anymore!) ;)
Just thought I'd chime on a great resource I use for plotting stuff out. It's called Scapple and it's basically a program that lets you mind map ideas. Think of having a sheet of paper with notes scribbled everywhere and circling those notes and connecting them with lines. That's essentially what Scapple does, but its SUPER helpful if you want all your disparate thoughts organized into a cohesive whole. More info hereHere's a pic of the app in action:
@Alyssa, yeah me too!! Lol! ;)
@Daniel - That looks awesome!! I'll have to check it out! Thank you! :)

Something that has REALLY helped me increase my word count was reading this book:
5,000 Words Per Hour: Write Faster, Write Smarter: Write Faster, Write Smarter
It's helped me go from averaging 300-500 words a day to 1,000-1,500 words a day! And I've only just started so the thought is that you get better as you practice.
It's a short read and I really really recommend it if you're struggling to get word counts up.
I haven't been here much yet. This month I am going through and adding more missing pieces in my outline so that in April I can do NaNoWriMo and write those parts.
The original was a fantasy turn sci-fi where a girl's parents are killed and her brother is taken from her, and she finds out that she has superpowers and travels back to when her mom was a girl.
Now I'm doing a rewrite where her brother is taken from her and her parents are killed/taken (maybe?), and she ends up being ruler of the fantasy world, and is kinda a tyrant.
Though I'm definitely a pantser not a planner, so, we'll see.

I'm not exactly sure. I would like to, but it needs help, so I'm not sure if I'll be continuing or starting over. Or I may just take a break from it and start one of my other story ideas.
It is such a mess, and the story isn't really going anywhere, and I just need to figure out what's going on before I continue/decide to start over
I was actually considering starting one for the Jesus Freaks for Writers group. I'll see if there's anyone over there without a cabin, and then we can figure something out.
I haven't heard from anyone.... If you want to create a cabin, I'd love to join you! Or I could create one, and invite you; whichever! :)
Hi everyone! To answer Mary's question, yes, I'm currently working on a modern day retelling of a mashup of Mulan and Alice in Wonderland. A very weird concept idea, but I'm having loads of fun with it!
I'm working on a fantasy trilogy right now, about man who has lived his whole life in the wild, and is suddenly thrust into the position of crown prince. Then an evil imposter arises, and the true heir gathers an army to fight him.
Mine is fantasy with a tyrant and middle ages with Greek/Roman stuff. I really don't have anything planned. :)
