It was fun, but it was basically like watching an extended trailer. They cancer (view spoiler)
Love how they're taking it to the next level with the star-crossed lovers.

Really? I haven't seen that in other SFR. I was expecting some kind of (view spoiler) Reminded me of Roswell! Loved that show. Roman seems so sweet (and cute, of course). I like all the characters and dynamics between them so far. I'm looking forward to the next one! My only quibble is that it would be nice to have some characters of color on a show about discrimination instead of just appropriating the struggle, LOL.
Good point about the discrimintion, I kind of thought the same thing.
I did love seeing Anna from VD on there though!
Yeah. In fact Alienated had it.

Yes! I have been waiting for the show for ages!! This is the show that's supposed to Nikita up The CW again. I'll be really sad if it just follows the same recipe as their other shows.
I even bought the book! (Hopeuflly I'll get it read before I see the tv show in March.)

LOL. What do you mean Nikita up? A little tougher than the rest? It reminds me a little of that After Earth movie. Looks like a good cast though.
The cast does look good.
By Nikita up, I mean tougher then the rest and some plot originality. Pretty much all of their shows have the same basic story to them and they get too comfortable.

I liked the pilot and the second episode was decent. I just wish they had a college setting instead of high school. I'm a Sci-Fi junkie so I'm giving this a chance, but I may be getting too old for high school drama. The lead actor is 30. It seems silly that he's playing a 16 year old. I don't know, maybe the Atrians are supposed to be more muscular/larger than the human boys hence the need for an older actor. He is good looking, better looking than the human guys for sure. After watching the second episode, it seems that the romance aspect of it is secondary though. Roman has a lot going on. I hope there will be more interaction than just putting their hands together. Is that the Atrian equivalent to making out? I'm still interested in seeing where this is all going.I was a huge Roswell fan, so I'm going to keep watching. So far, in comparison, I like Roswell better but they have only aired the second episode.
So far even though we're only on ep2 Im loving this show. I think as far as CW goes its nice to get a show that isn't centered on Paranormal situations and uses a Sci-fi element instead. I was talking to some of my co-workers about this show and we all agree that it does remind us of Alien Nation (series from late 80's... doubt most of you are old enough to remember lol) but that isn't a bad thing. I was noticing though that the Atrian sector reminds me of the town Defiance in well Defiance lol
I am really enjoying the show. I like that they're following the Atrian struggle so closely. They even sprinkled some power struggles within the Atrians. The Atrian sector is probably meant to mimic a refugee camp or apartheid. I wonder what happened to the Atrian homeworld... I am glad to see another alien show. I wasn't getting my fix without Falling Skies! It's really nice that they're not bug-faced too, LOL.

I doubt Emory would be too interested if Roman looked like an insect. :)
I really enjoyed the second episode. Even more I love that they're keeping with the a more realistic approach. With the human and Atrian factions.
Also, I would have liked it if it would have been college as well.

LOL. Insect love. Yeah, I like the realism thus far too.

Episode 3! What did you all think? I feel like Roman distancing himself from Emery's a little cliché but still better justified than in other shows. I am really interested in the Trag and Red Hawk storylines. (view spoiler)
It is cliche, but they need to prolong the hook up. ^_-
Me too, that storyline was more exciting then I thought it would be! It was clearly coming, but it's still fun watching it unfold.

Its on the CW its standard for all their shows... The guy pretends to be a douche to protect the girl. Even supernatural has dean being a douche to Sam to protect him... Its in the CW contract lol
Now that I have watched Episode 4, I'm still enjoying the show. I like where they are going with the storyline although I'm getting bored with Emery/Roman's relationship. Something needs to happen soon with those two. I'm losing interest. However, I am loving Drake and Taylor. I can't wait for those two to get together. I think they are so fun. I love how they flirt and bust each other's balls. lol
For all you Star Crossed lovers, I am currently reading and enjoying a book that is similar to this show. I'm about halfway finished with it. It's funny and the MCs have good chemistry. It's a about an honor student who gets picked to host an alien exchange student. There is a group called HALO, like the Red Hawks in Star Crossed that is against the exchange program and wants her family to send him back. It's pretty good so far. It's called Alienated https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... if anyone is interested.
I think Shera read that one, Krissy! I like Drake and Taylor too, they're so much fun. I really loved Teri in this episode too: "What you're saying makes me feel unwelcome and filled with rage. There, I used my words," right before she head butts someone, LOL! I liked Lucas, Julia and Roman's talk about minorities and the nod to Robinson. And Julia's friendship with Roman too. Who was shocked by the ending? (view spoiler) The water aspect was very interesting too! The bullying in this one made me tear up a little.
I wasnt shocked by the ending, I knew so and so was connected to so and so due to ep3 ending with so and so holding a baby with markings
After tonight's episode I have decided Roman and Terri should be together. Drake and Taylor are the couple I'm enjoying the most. Please more of those two; love them. Grayson and Emery are boring. Am I the only one who thinks Emery sucks? I don't get her at all. Overall, I like the show and the developing story.
Emery could use some passions. She didn't get much screen time. I like Grayson, but yeah, I'm really interested to see if Drake gets over his anti-human feelings. I mean, (view spoiler), so he may have a lot on his head one day, but it seems like he's still on the fence. Technically, he isn't guilty of any violence yet.
new_user wrote: "Emery could use some passions. She didn't get much screen time. I like Grayson, but yeah, I'm really interested to see if Drake gets over his anti-human feelings. I mean, [spoilers removed], so he ..."Yeah, I agree with your spoiler. I think Drake is going to regret that decision especially since he obviously likes a certain human girl. I'm sure he will be in denial about that fact. I hope he gets jealous. I love it when they are all growly and possessive. Also with regards to your spoiler, based on what we already know about it, I would think that it would screw over the Atrians as well.
Yeah, definitely. It's pretty interesting the way Roman and Drake are diverging and taking two different paths to the same end (in their minds). Pretty realistic. Who says this show's shallow! LOL.
Finally was able to get caught up to episode 4! I really like how the show is turning out, I'm just not interested in the romance between Roman and Emery at all.
In fact, Emery's character is so "insert self here" that I'm not really liking her at all. And I'm fine with her not having much screen time.
I'm more interested in Julia! (Plus, I love the actress so much!)
I'm looking forward to see where this show goes!

You're right, Julia does have a lot more personality! I'd like to see more of her! Epi5: (view spoiler)
OK, I agree with Roman's sister! I was so bummed they didn't have more of her on episode 6.
Ah, episode 6. Totally just killed the magic of (view spoiler)
Anyone else guessing who, or what, the teacher might be?

Six: (view spoiler) I am really curious about the teacher, and that Zoe is tough, LOL. I feel bad for Taylor though (view spoiler).
Let's hope they keep focusing on the many other parts of the storyline besides the romance. Which I think they're trying to push so viewers can get some gradification faster.
Taylor could really end up being an awesome character, so I'm curious how the whole Zoe and Taylor thing will turn out.

umm its on CW its all about the high school drama and romance, Im over the whole love triangle. ALL of their shows involve a love triangle its an overused cliche
I'm so sick of the love triangle thing too. This is why I like Drake and Taylor so much; there is no third party. Part of what bothers me about Emery is she is really not that into Grayson the way that he's into her. She's in love with Roman so why lead this other kid on. It's mean. She's got that "if I can't have him, I guess I'll settle for you" mentality. She's all "Go Atrians, I'm their biggest supporter" yet she's dating a guy whose parents are head of the bad guys. What the hell? She just seems like a dimwit to me. I hope her character improves. She should follow Taylor's lead and go after what she wants instead of settling for a guy she really only sees as a friend. Hopefully that's where they are going with this.
Ha-ha! He's part of the cursed love triangle, he ain't going anywhere.
Exactly Krissy. Taylor supposed to be the bitch viewers love to hate. But you've got to respect the girl.
Sophia, now I'm more interested what is going to happen to her.

This guy?

Yeah, he's a douche. But I hate the leaders of the Red Hawks more. I like that they show so many viewpoints though, rather than just Trags as villains. I agree, Emery's seems to be with Grayson just to be in a relationship, but maybe she has feelings for him too. I like Taylor. It's fun to see Taylor and Drake flirt, but I was kind of surprised that she was suggesting a "tour" after the way he'd treated her. Maybe that is more authentic teenager though, LOL.

Yeah, I was a bit shocked about the Tour thing. Authentic shunned teenager reaction would to be pissed at him for a quite a while. Then have him begging to come back. (Or maybe that's just what I was hoping would happen.)
Oh, really? You don't like Grayson? I thought he was nice, although his naivete was annoying. "My parents just hate the Atrians, they don't want to kill them..." LOL. I'm curious what will happen to Sophia too. She dropped off the face of the earth after the reveal, LOL. I love it when they show the Atrians swimming.
I can't help but think of Defiance when they show the Sector, the Votan live in shipping containers too!
On Grayson's part I think it might be more denial then anything else.
Yeah, it's cool when they swim. It's like the alien reveal! Those previews for next week are looking fun. (Underwater kissing. >_< Makes me go all fangirl. Though I bet it's not a kiss, just some oxygen being shared.)

Oh, I didn't see that preview! I'm intrigued! I'm really glad they took the water angle and fleshed the aliens out a bit instead of making them generic.
All I can say about last night's episode is FINALLY!!!!Oh and it was really good too; my favorite so far. As usual, I loved all the Drake and Taylor scenes.
Drake and Taylor! Yes progress!
I feel for Grayson poor lost guy. I just wish they wouldn't have made it all so generic.

Oh, the plant and water aspects of the aliens are cool.
But the free love part they're putting in now, seems really out of no where? They hadn't been showing any same sex couples with the aliens before. Or more like they tossed it in for wild hookups and not so much alien development.
Anyone else?

Didn't really strike me as a problem, but I do wonder if Lucas and Sophia are going to be an item anyway because of the ending.
I felt bad for Grayson too, getting strung along. I wonder if he'll end up a Hawk too, after discovering Emery (view spoiler)

Yeah, it kind of seems like an opportunity plot-wise, plant the seed of his rage, etc., etc. She left him for an Atrian too, LOL. Oh, and I was glad to see (view spoiler) And that blond guy has a soul, after all!
