Isaac Asimov
Dostoyevsky is really good, but difficult too(at least for me). His work is profound... and so is Asimov's.

I will start by posting one of my favorite authors, if someone likes that author he/she will post one of his/her favorite author. This way we might end up discovering our next favorite author.
We wait for the next person (who likes the last posted author) for one day, if nobody of such interest comes up, anybody can post his favorite author (but mention it by adding "New").
Example:
Person1 posts: Amitav Gosh
----Person2 likes Amitav Gosh----
Person2 posts: Kiran Desai
----24 hours go by, none of her fans turn up----
Person3 posts: "New" Ken Follet
