❅ ║ In comparison to some of the other people around the resort, Noah isn't really the most competitive person. While, yes, he can definitely stand on his own, he doesn't really take competition too seriously, liking the sport he indulges in, snowboarding, just for the fun of it. He doesn't take it all too seriously like some people might. For this reason, he has a low competitiveness, and doesn't actually care too much for the idea of making sports into something extremely serious. Instead, he likes to have fun with what he does, as he feels that's the way sports and activities were intended to be. Still though, he's pretty good when he's out in his home territory of snowboarding. With his dominate right hand, he often finds himself preforming various tricks that a lot of people wouldn't. He tends to live for the thrill whenever he can. But even though he's completely open to the idea of doing new things, he is really not very good at a lot of things. He can't ski, he can't bobsled, and he can't skate. Like, at all. He never really learned how. He can, however, skateboard pretty well. Kind of comes with the territory, y'know?

(☇Hᴀɪʀ - With his bright green eyes and pale complexion, it would seem that there is no better hair color for Noah than a dark, raven black. The only issue is that he seldom really cares about it. Normally always running his hands through it, his ebony locks always seem to give off the quality that he's just woken up, resulting in odd looks from the people that he meets. If one didn't know him better, they'd assume that he slept the entire day.

(☇Eʏᴇs - Complementing his dark hair, Noah's eyes are a light green pigmentation reminiscent of the color an emerald takes the moment that light is shown upon it. Or at least, this is what Noah would say. In reality, they're just a basic green color, nothing to really gawk at. He could say that they're something spectacular, but just like everyone around him, he would know that's not exactly the truth. A little close? Maybe. Spot on? Not at all.

(☇Hᴇɪɢʜᴛ - At the moment, Noah stands at a height of six foot one, making him a pretty tall lad. This goes along with his large personality get your head out of the gutter, but it can also detract from people wanting to respond back to what he says. There are times when he can come off a little intimidating with his tall stature, but it doesn't take too long for people to realize just how little of a threat Noah tends to pose. He's pretty harmless, for the most part.

(☇Wᴇɪɢʜᴛ - Noah's weight is average for his age and height. Weighing in at one hundred and fifty seven pounds, he's neither overweight nor underweight, and that's just perfect for him. He's never really been concerned with the way he looks, but if he weighed much more, or less, he wouldn't be all too happy. In fact, he'd probably try to fix it immediately by working out. Luckily though, his athletic nature gets rid of the possibility of gaining too much weight, and that is definitely something Noah is grateful for.

(☇Dɪsᴛɪɴɢᴜɪsʜɪɴɢ Mᴀʀᴋs - Growing up as a pretty outdoorsy kid and never really taking the time to settle down, Noah has accumulated several marks from both his time on the slopes and in his back yard as a kid. There have been several times that he's fallen out of trees and scraped himself up pretty badly, and there have also been times when he has fallen going down the slopes and gained a few cuts. He simply supposes that going outside a lot entails getting scraped a little. And in that assumption, he would be correct.

As far as personality goes, Noah is a pretty basic one. Well, at least on the surface he is. Typically, he appears as the normal, all-american boy, playing football when he's in school and boarding the slopes when he's not. He's quite athletic, though competition isn't really something that he concerns himself. To him, things are all about living crazy, free, and wild, not about making sure that you're the best. In his opinion, he'd rather have fun doing what he does than living a life worrying about how everyone else is doing. Perhaps this is where he gets the tendency to be pretty lighthearted.
It's pretty hard to be super serious around Noah, though there are times when he'll show that side of him. Because in reality, Noah has his inner-turmoils just like every other person that ever lived. He's no stranger to hardship and he's no stranger to depression. The only thing that might set him apart is the way that he hides it, tucking it away deep inside him in the hopes that it will never reach the light of day. He's already been consumed by the terrors of being sad and depressed, and in his mind, that never needs to be shown again. It can happen every once in a while, when he feels like the world is crashing down on top of him, but does anyone else need to know what's wrong with him? No, he doesn't think so. He'd rather keep all this inner conflict to himself. Everyone would just look at him differently if he let it show, anyways.
So Noah will hide away the feelings that are threatening to tear him apart inside and will resist the urge to fall into himself. He's been through his fair share of hardships -- maybe even more than he should have -- and he just knows that he doesn't have to be sad about it. Thoughts of what has happened to him over the years still haunt him, but he tries not to let it weigh him down. There are others out there that have it worse than him, he knows, and that's what truly keeps him going through the day. That, and the idea that he can fix every single person that comes into his care. He has an obsession with it, honestly, and even though he hasn't fully healed himself, he will always attempt to heal others. Whether he can or not, though, is another story completely.

'I can still see her standing there, summer tangled in her hair.'
'The first week of July. The first day of my life.'
Things were easier when Noah was secluded, when he was alone with his family and not out in the world. Noah never thought he would ever think that, not when he was a kid, but now that things have changed for the worst, he doesn't believe that being secluded was such a bad thing after all. Maybe then he would have had a better chance at keeping himself out of harm's way. Out of the way of heartbreak.
He was sixteen when they met for the first time. She was standing outside his high school's parking lot, her eyes alight with confusion as they scanned the exterior of the building. The sun's luminous rays beat down on her hair, lighting it in a light brown tint. The first thought that hit him was that she was pretty. No, she was more than that, he realized a minute later. She was beautiful. And despite all the quiet nature that he embodied at that time, Noah approached her, helping her find the class she was looking for. And then suddenly, she was gone without even a name to remember her by, and Noah never thought he would see the bright blue eyed girl again.
Until he did.
Anyone other than the two of them would think that calculus was an odd place to fall in love. But it was through Noah and Jessica's conversations in the little old classroom that they truly started to fall for each other. She would help him with the problems he didn't understand -- which, due to Noah's flawed comprehension of most basic math problems, was quite a lot -- and in turn, he would help her out her difficulty when it came to other, extracurricular activities. Together they made the perfect pair. But just like everyone always say, things don't stay perfect forever. They change, even if we don't always want it. So for Jessica and Noah, things changed. On November twenty-fifth, Jessica was diagnosed with Leukemia. She died on December twenty-second, just days before Christmas, her favorite holiday. She was surrounding by her family, her mom holding her hand as Noah watched from the end of the hospital bed. As the pulses slowed to a dull throbbing, his eyes fell to the ground, and when they stopped, his gaze didn't rise again.

Weeks passed with no avail. Noah shut himself in his room, refusing to show himself to even the family he had that attempted to comfort him. He didn't want to hear it, didn't want to listen to the apologies that would riddle the air. It was engraved in his mind that the moment he returned to society, everyone would look upon him with pity. He didn't even want to go to school, knowing that even his friends wouldn't treat him the same. So Noah proposed another change, one that wouldn't kill him inside: he wanted to move. Being the good parents they were, his mother and father obliged, immediately packing up their bags and moving up to New York.
Things were different in Noah's new home. Under the careful scrutiny of his parents, Noah refused to show anyone that he was hurting even a little bit. He covered it up as much as he could, and according to his therapist, he was recovering beautifully. But things were still a little shaken. It was a few months after moving, just a couple of days after his eighteenth birthday that Noah had a breakdown. Luckily, he'd had it while at home and not in the middle of school, but when he went into the bathroom and didn't come out for a few hours, his parents decided that he take some time off. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is where our story leaves off, with Noah being sent off to the Juncus resort in North Dakota. Is he thrilled to be there? Not at all. Is it better than being handled with the kid gloves? Hell yes.
