Carla Doolin (carladoolin) | 5 comments I don't think I've ever intentionally read a chick-lit book, and this one was no exception. I bought A Rural Affair thinking that it was a romance. There was an understated stream of romance throughout the book, but it was most definitely chick-lit. I found the British lingo a little confusing, but parts of the book were hysterical! Definitely worth a look if you like this genre.

Andrea (alexandra14) | 1146 comments I just read this Foreplay (The Ivy Chronicles, #1) by Sophie Jordan , it's a Contemporary and New Adult book. I really liked this story even though the plot was a common the way the story was written got me reading without me wanting to stop. It is a great book.

Thanks for the rec, Andrea :)

Aishee I really loved One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern. The book was heart-warming about not losing hope. Overall I found the story very unique with flawed yet wonderful heroine.

Hanita | 10 comments Wow, chick-lit is simply a 'very me' genre. My favourite authors are Meg Cabot and Sophie Kinsella. Both authors always present sloppy women and drop-dead gorgeous men. LOL!

I really like Jennifer Crusie's and Sophie Kinsella's works. And then there is a new author Penny Reid who has also become one of my favourites.
@Aishee & Hanita: Have you read Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid ?

message 9: by Aishee (new)

Aishee I'm afraid I haven't read this. Do any of you here read Rachel Gibson?

I tried reading her See Jane Score, but didn't finish the book. Oh and you should read Penny Reid she's good.

Aishee Actually I'm gonna start her Chinook's Hockey Team after completing her Truly,Idaho series. And See Jane Score tops my list.

It's a good book, Nidhi. You should also try her The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1) by L.H. Cosway , she wrote that in collaboration with another author, but it looks to be a promising new series.

message 18: by Tania (new)

Tania Alice Clayton.
Her books for me are the definition of chick lit
Also Julie James

I'm not much of a fan of Ahern except her P.S. I love you. I haven't read Jenna Evans so far, but I agree the others are some of my auto-buy authors.
