Hello. Would anyone be interested in getting together informally just to chat about books we've read? I met some of you at the last two book swaps, and I'm excited about the third one in June. The library does a great job organizing that event. But I thought it would be cool if we could meet more often, maybe reserve one of the library rooms and bring a few snacks. Just gonna throw out a date ... Thursday, March 27. I was thinking 7 p.m. until 9 and then people could come and go whenever. I haven't reserved a location. I wanted to see if anyone was interested first. I guess we could also do lunch or coffee or something every now and then. (Bobby, I hope you don't mind me posting this. This wouldn't be an official Lexington Reads event organized by the library. Just some of us hanging out. You, of course, would be welcome if we decide to do it.)

It kind of depends on the genre... I'd like to be able to relate with what others are reading though I read a large variety of books :)
I'm a local author of Historical Fiction. I'd be glad to get together with anyone who would like to discuss my books. I write about WWII and currently have five books in print.
How about dinner on that day? 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27 at Shakespeare and Company downtown. I was just telling Kit before I created this thread that it would be nice to get to know some others in the group better. And I like talking to other readers about what they've read regardless the genre. This is just an informal, maybe one-time thing, maybe not ...
How about a last name, Jack, so we might read your books? or your "author name" if you are using a pseudonym.Ann

I enjoyed The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History: this looks to be as interesting!

If you click on Jack's name - it takes you straight to his author profile.
I'm new to the area and interested in meeting other book-lovers, so I'll definitely be following this proposal to see if it works out, and if so I'll try to attend.
Hey Sarah. I'm just waiting to see if anyone else wants to join me. Kit, are you planning to come? As long as a couple people are planning to meet up for sure, I'll be there.
I'm actually going to go ahead and cancel this, you guys. Looks like it's not gonna work out. But I'll see you all in June!
Sorry, hopefully, we can meet after Pascha. I've read almost all of Coelho books. I would love to have a discussion on your favorites! I have three favorites myself.
I've only read one of his, my brother tried to lock me in my room when i was little until I'd read the Alchemist so he could have someone to discuss it with lol. I probably need to read it again.
I'll dig out my copy :D I've been following coehlo on twitter and he seems like a really amazing guy. He's been self publishing books lately that I'd like to check out.
