Coven: Rising from the Ashes discussion

A Great place to really party. Join the excitement at the Ecstasy Illusion. Strobe lights and Black lights fill cover the walls and light up the dance floor where mortals can let lose and attempt to forget the stresses of real life. On the first floor Downstairs, the regular club and bar, upstairs the supernatural only part, is where New Orleans' warlocks come together to do just about anything.
A rave of excitement and pure ecstasy. The Warlocks seem to keep things going all night long. Ecstasy Illusion is run by a powerful family of warlocks, seeming to have no witches in the family. Owned by Mathew Elijah Goode, son of the Supreme. He allows the family to run things while he benefits from the profits.

Mathew was upstairs sitting outside having a taste at each drink the club had to offer. He sat lounged back in a booth overlooking New Orleans form the rooftop. He loved it up here it was peaceful and almost magical. The music form inside mixing with the whispers of the air seemed so enchanting. It was a spell naturally that was how he made his money. He had been here most of the day waiting for Lukas to come back after looking for a job.

Velia sighed, after an hour and a half of showing her ID multiple times and showing credentials to get to this section she was finally in front of Mr. Goode's door. She raised a small fist and knocked firmly. She was especially irritated because she couldn't walk through the downstairs area without getting groped multiple times. Couldn't she just go back to being invisible. Please?

(and that is the reason I no longer go clubbing XD))

Mathew heard someone on the inside knocking. He flicks hsi hand lazily and the door opens, "How ca I help...Ah...one of my mothers pupils...How are you today?" He asks kindly. He was a very charming man and held himself very well. His posture was perfect and hsi eyes were always swirling with power. He truly was a great Warlock, but oen question lignered int eh back of hsi mind...who was this girl and what was she doing in a palce liek this, especially upstairs where horny warlocks seduce mortal women and screw right infront of one antoehr.

((lol I was always the Designated Driver so no drink for me...and I'm still under 21 too soooo yeah. Down side for having older friends.))

"I have some paper work from your mother." Velia said finally removing her hood and letting him now she really was old enough to be in this place. "And I'm an instructor." She said shortly, giving as little information as possible. She had no surprise he didn't know her. People knew her name but didn't connect it with her face. Which is why she didn't give her name unless asked out right. As for seeing men screw around right out the door, she could care less at the moment. To each there own she would say.

((I'm still under 21 and i have an up side tohaving older firneds. I go clubbing and dirnk like hell beofr eI get there, but of course you aren't a 20 year old alcoholic now are you? lol I have been drinking since I was 15 and smoking since i was 13 and smoking weed since I was 16...I used to be a drug addict but after discovering I had heart prioblems I stick to the herbs now...and tabacco...lol))



Mathew smirks, "I'm sorry, but I don't accept mail while at work, especially from lovely creatures of whom I have no idea as to which name belongs tot hem." He spoke so chamringly and sweetly. He truly was a warlock with moves like that he clearly has been around.

((lol no, I just never saw the appeal of it at all. I'm not saying I haven't drank before It's jsut I don't have the desire to get plastered XD Hang overs are worth it. Besides I'm kinda of well....guys don't find my personality or even my face to be the most interesting part of me if you know what I mean so I don't take chances.))

Velia sighed a bit. Honestly? "Well this 'lovely creature's' name is Velia." she said putting air quotes around his compliment. She's heard them all before. "And you don't have to accept it, I can just toss it on your desk and disappear." She said putting her hands on her hips.

((lol Im not even close ot attractive and yet I don't care...except for my wiehgt...I ensure I eat one meal a day only to keep myself form going over 130 lb. I have never experienced anytihng horrible like a hang over becuase probably the situation of alcoholism runnignin my family lol...The onyl reaosn I really smoke weed is so I wille at one meal a day...without it i have no appetite. comes inhandy to have friends wholet you sit in their circles for free when you ahve no real job. I haven't had alcohol in my system for almost a weak now or weed and I have eaten twice during that period of time, but me eating is no issue, as long as my kid eats three meals a day. I honestly can say i believe myself to be semi-immortal..lol I have put my body through some horirble situations including impalement and never have I ever punctured vital organs, broken bones acquired chicken pox oranytihng of the sort..I remain sickly and cold allthe time because I have some form of rare blood diseasde that makes my body temp lower thna the average humans...But hey I'm me and i'm happy to be me.))

Mathew shakes hsi hand closing the door behind her. "No I'll tak eit...what is it about?" he asked kindly. "And count yourself lucky I only reserve compliments for cute witches...I'm not hitting on you..you are too young for me anyway probably...not syaing i haven't slept with people your age..." He was rather charming and handsome, but his personality was way too cocky at he moment.

((That's a good attitude to have...except the whole one meal a day thing but thats the med student in my talking))

"About some meeting coming up at the end of the month." She said laying them out on his desk in an organized manner. "Well thank you for thinking I'm cute, but it doesn't matter if you we;re hitting on me or not." She said with a shrug. Comments like that mad e everyone at the home believe she was asexual all the time, fueling cruel remarks. She never learned to take a compliment because it was usually double sided. "And how old do you think I am?"

(9Yeah, well i like to keep thin...lol))

Mathew smirks, "Judging by the development of your body and the kept back appearanc eoyu hold you are a college aged girl seekig the company of your own mind. You have no interest in seekignfriendship in anyone and you often find releif in books rather than people. Tell em when I get something right." He continues. "you are more than likely a Libra or a Gemini or quite posisbly an Aquarius. Given that information shoudlit eb correct you are a creative individual and you often hold a myseteriosu ness about you forcing other to question jsut who's side oyu are on, when durign the whole transaction you are on no ones side, but oyur own. You beleive strongluy in Fairness and honesty and peace. You are only violent when means call for it...You often hold your emotions down form others seeing them and viewing you as weak. You are more than likely skittish around loud noises and possibly hodl a deep child-like fear of being alone in the dark. In fact you always sleep with a lamp on should that be correct. You hold great pwoer over manipulating what you wnat others to see. And Divinations is a forte of yours, as it is with most creative minds. You suffer a dark past involving both of your parents one being far mroe trajic than the other. Your English is actually very good now..." He admits kindly.

"Very good." She said though she was a bit angry with him, tempted to bash his head over with the lamp on his desk. "Though I have to admit, you are missing one little detail." She said with a shrug. And looked over to him. "Oh but I won't ruin your fun and tell you what it is." She said and spun, getting into his face, her deep grey-blue eyes looking into his. "Now let me do you." she said. "Being so 'mysterious' lets these little ears of mind to hear such interesting things. Let me be 'honest' You're quite the manipulator your self I won't lie. But not in the same way as I am. You're a user, preferring to get others to do your work for you. You come across as charming and kind when in reality your more aggressive than you let people think. Not to mention when you like something you get overly possessive of it. You're a puppet master aren't you. But I'm not one of your little puppet's my darling." she said narrowing her eyes. "But I will admit...not all the charm and kindness is an act." she said crossing her arms. "Now how well did I-" she said but was interrupted by a loud crash, probably his bouncers taking care of someone causing trouble. She broke away quickly her hands covering her eyes and eyes squeezed shut as she trembled a bit. "And shut up about my parents..." she said in a small voice.

((Yeah same here. Every morning as soon as i put my son on the bus I go for a jog down and back up the mountain.))

Mathew stands removing hsi jacket. It appeared hte sunw as setting soon and int he middle of Summer was no good idea to actually wear a jacket, but he did for the style. He stands wrapping hsi jacket aorund the girl kindly. "It was sjut something inside...nothign to worry about I assure you...why not have a seat and get a drink fo something. You nailed me on the head, but unfortunately I must ask you not to give my secrets away." He says seemign to actually show concern that she was fearufl of the loud noise.

"I'm fine." She mumbled but jumped in fear as she heard it again. She shrunk down into his jacket a bit. "And I ask you not to spread mine." She said softly. "People don't know me and it's for good reason." She said with a serious look in her eyes. "I'm serious, zip your lips old man." She said already having a nick name for him and was still on the defense after he pegged her pretty good.

Mathew rolls hsi eyes, "I'm not that old, okay..." That was clearly one thing he was most sensitive abotu, his age. "You have my word, but given I need to sign these forms for my mother I expect you are to return them to her? I mean...on a side note...anyone with the sight can see int you, but few if any others ahve sucha gift." He was quick abotu changing subjects it seemed to be a strong quality of his added to the list of manipualtion.

"Yeah well I'm not that young, okay?" She asked and went to go sit in a chair. That was something they had in common, neither liked being called out on their age. "And yeah, I was told to bring them back. You're mom wouldn't trust anyone else." She said with a nod. "And I know that, but with me I make it hard enough for the few that have it. Unless they completely do it out of the blue." She said giving him a look form the corner of her eyes. "An they're supposed to be on my side."

Mathew smirks..."I'm on everyones side. the war is over now and peace exist. We are out to the humans whether they chooseot believe or not and the hunters have been wiped out. I think we are managing quite well. Who's out there now that could go agiasnt a coven so pwoerful that both the magic of witches adn the craft of Voodoo is combined?" He challenges an answer.

He places shi arm behind her not in a flirt manner, but a relaxed manner showing he had all the pwoer here and yet was kind enough to let ehr sit. He naturally worked that way and could never tell when he was doing it.

"You don't understand anything at all." She said, once again back to her quiet manner she usually held after he riled her up. "Peace is unattainable, there is always to be chaos." She said softly downing her head. "Sure we are strong now, but the future holds many questions on whether that will last or not." She said seriously sounding much older than she appeared. She also didn't seem to pay any mind to his arm.

Mathew smirks, "You know you are tlaking to a seer about the future right now...There is nothing hidden form me. I knw and see all. I see peace not chaos...unless you include that one part I had a dream abotu, but I never listen to my reams...ever." He really was stubborn enough to ignore hsi own visions for they wer emsot clear when he was asleep and what eh saw showed everything contradicting peace.

"I always listen to mine. When you dream is when you put of less of a fight and you see things as you should no matter how much you don't like it." Velia said resting her head back, caring less that his arm was behind her. "Le cose brutte sono a venire, e non posso nemmeno dire ad alta voce."

Mathew rolls hsi eyes, "WEre bad things turly coming you would have no choice but to say it aloud. I fear for you my dear given the fact that you are so kept back should darkness head our way you will stand alone. YOu better keep what number fo friends you do have closer." He admits to her.

"I say it aloud but no one will listen to me." she said quietly. "If a tree falls in the forest does it surely make a sound in no one is around to hear it?" She said sadly. "And it's you that I fear for old man." She said bluntly, turning her head from him.

Mathew glares, "Listen, little girl...I have nothing to fear, my mother is the Supreme...what do I have to fear?" He begged her to contradict his words. He was practically challenging her. His mother was the Supreme the one witch who had nothign t fear. She was soon to claim and recognize her replacement and trian ehr for the day that she sacrifices herself for the next Supreme to rise.

"I'm not a little girl and I know that Cordelia has nothing to fear." She said, calling her just Cordelia do to a close relationship to the woman. Velia loved to woman like she was her own mother, and she'd be damn if anything threatened her, even if it meant standing between her and death itself. "But you are not the Supreme and that doesn't excuse fate." She said seriously turning her head lazily to meet his eyes, rolling it along his arm as is this challenge didn't even institute her raising her head.

Mathew sits back a bit more reaching for a colourful drink glowing and seemign to have a fog fall off of it. "I cal it a the witches brew...it is a new drink we are trying suppsoed to hieghten sensitivity to all your senses." He explains changing the subject once more. "Care to try one?" He secretly had two reasons for this drink, one was to seduce mortal women the second was to hiehgten his magical senses.

"Hmmm maybe I was wrong, your not an old man...but a little spoiled boy." Velia scoffed and reached out to take the drink. "Why not." She sighed once more and grasped the flute of the glass. "Do you always change the topic to avoid things you don't want to face.

Mathew rolls hsi eyes and snaps hsi fingures as bust boy runs out with a tray carrying another of the smae dirnk. "That will eb all. "He says takign the drink and downing it rather quickly until nothing was left but what appeared to be mint leaves.

"Ignoring a woman's question is rude, Prince Charming." she said blandly as she took a more delicate sip of the drink. "It's good." She complemented. "The strength is more diluted but it's there." She said with a nod. "You can't avoid things."`

Mathew rolls hsi eyes lightly trying to keep it form her notice, "Were I truly interested in what questions you had I would answer them." He lied. "I have no reason to not change the subject to something far more interesting. "He says unconsciosuly moving his hand that is behind her forward a bit so hsi finger tips rtubbed agiasnt her shoudler. he was hardly aware he was even doing it. but deep down he had abandonment issues and touchign someone was always nice.

Velia almost flinched, physical contact wasn't always nice in foster homes but soon she relaxed into it. She also had abandonment issues so being touched nicely was rare. She decided not to say anything. "It's not an interest problem, it's an avoidance problem and you know it." She said poking his side.

Mathew lightly flinches, "Listen, wjhateveryour name is...I am not about to be critiqued on how i run my life by anyone. I know my issues and if all you want to do is point them out for the res tof the world to notice then please see yourself form my property.

"I'm not pointing them out to the world I'm pointing them out to you and since you already know them it's not a problem now is it." Velia looked up at him. "Oh calm your self old man. You should know that's not my intention since you know me so well." She scoffed and moved away from his gentle touch in case he decided to hit her, it wouldn't be the first time.

Mathew places his ankle on his knee allowing him to turn slightly from her. "Okay Well i'll just sign the papers saying I'll be there next month and send you on your way okay." he says plainly. He was in no mood to be criticized. However, he did enjoy the company.

"Yeah yeah ye-" She said and jumped half way across the couch at another loud sound. "God I hate this place." She snapped, burrowing her self more into his jacket and covering her ears, bringing her knees up to hide away.

A man walks throguh the door, the same who brought the drink to Mathew moments ago..."Sir, a human by the name of Antonio eloy request an audiance with you."
Mathew downs yet another drink that was glwoing purple. "Yes send him in."

the man bows and in anothe rmoemnts notice a young man enters walking onto the roof top..."Hey, My name is..."

Mathew interupts him, "Antonio eloy..Yes please sit Mr. Eloy." Antonio sits down witha slightl nod sitting across form Mathew and Velia. "I'm the new bartender you hired last week and I was desiring for you to do me a favor concerning my pay. I was wondeirng if instead of a check with my name on it if you coudl jsut grant my cash directly."

Mathew smirks, "You know askign for cash ebcause you don't want to pay the bank deposit is one thing, but asking for cash to have untraceable drug money is a totally other story."

Antonio looked half shocked that the guy even knew about that. he didn't even look like a druggy he was oyung and very fit, but this guy saw it clealry, but how. "Listen, Mr. Goode...I don't knwo what you are tlaking about.. I am jsut askingfor cash so I can pay my bills on time. I can't get to a bank or anytihng and waiting for a check int he mail takes too long. Sorry, but I need to keep things simple." He explains in a bad lie.

Velia peeked out from over her knees and looked at the man, she didn't have time to pull her hood up so her face was exposed to the man and it made her uncomfortable. Velia raised an eyebrow, easily seeing it with her own sight, not as well as Mathew but well enough. Even without her sight she could hear what a total lie that last one was. She had to bite back a laugh, clutching the ends of Mathew's jacket to keep from snickering. She took a drink to hide it.

Mathew frowns, "Well, as much as I disapprove of you giving drugs to a kid who isn't even old enough to smoke ciggarettes I can not control what you do with your money without proof. I suppsoe it cna be arranged."

Antonio's jaw naturally dropepd at his words. he was in mroe shock than a kid at a magic show. "Um, right...well thank you sir...I'll see you tomorrow then?"

Mathew snaps hsi fingures, "Not so fast...I've sene your skills at a abr. Iw oudl lke to double your pay rate, plus tips and offer you a position up top in the restricted section. You wills ee some tihngs that will make no sense to you, but you are able to drink ont he job here and you are givne far mroe freedoms than you have downstairs. Waht do you say?"

Antonio stnads and shakes the mans hand thourghly as if ensuring this was true iwth a handshake. "Yes sir...I'll see you tomorrow..."

Mathew shakes his head, "No you will have to cancel your plans with your drug dealer tonight and you will be working night hours rather than day hours."

Antonio frowns. He was already havign afew withdraws in the span of one day, but he ahd to keep money coming in and keephis brother thinking he still didn't have a job. This helped him in more ways than one. "Um, right...whatever you say, Mr. Goode...thank you for the opportunity." He says rushing out past the doors to the bar and relieving the bartender. He starts up quick paced and starts sending down the drinks. the odd part for him was the fact that the more he drank his own drink the mroe he coudl swear with each order as he sets the drinks out for them to come get they simply vanish to the appropriate tables.

Mathew laughs coldly as if he ahd jsut proven his act as puppet master. "I feel sorry for when he discoveres the truth about hsi littel brother. Like all of us he will be shoved form sihgt, even mroe so when hsi eldest brother discovers the youngest boys secret." He didn't realyl say it to anyone in particular, but he had to say it allowed to confirm what he saw in shaking Antonio's hand.

Velia frowned at the older man but chose not to say anything like she normally did as she finished the drink he had given her. She might not agree with his life choices but like he said, she believed in fairness above all else and that included making your own choices. But this guy...he really was a manipulator with little compassion.

Mathew sits more opening facing Velia now, "You know I have a bit of a secret...I ask you not to tel my mother for it may put him in danger...but there is a boy who is brother to a witch hunter. One of the last Witch Hunter societies left. I ask you not say anything at all becuase Antonio is brother to both a warlock and a witch hunter. Their youngest brother is a warlcok adn the eldest a hunter. Living under the same roof in secret form one another. I fear it won't be long before one will end up dead." He explains with a sly smile. He was not apt to adopting in young warlocks who have neglected the school. Julian would have to face hsi brother one day and he woudl not survive.

"It;s not of my business so I will not say a thing. But I ask you to keep the situation from spreading like wild fire." She said crossing her arms. "We do not need panic in the coven. She said releasing her hold on her knees so she was more open to him. "But how exactly did the two come to live under one roof. I would think a situation like this to be impossible."

Mathew smirks, "Four brothers all with the same mother and different fathers. Ironic really. The eldest brother cares for them living a double life as a hunter in secret. The youngest keeps his powers in check and hidden from his brothers in fear of judgement...he is unaware of the fact his eldest brother is a hunter. The middle two are simple mortals." He explains. I have no intention on spreading this out, but Antonio buys drugs and shares with his warlock brother. Antonio knows nothing of either brothers secrets infact they are a family of secrets." He explains taking yet another drink. He felt hsi pwoers already becoming sensitive for each cup he touched eh saw the path it took form it's view to get to him.

Velia had settled back against his arm, trying to soak up more warmth from him as she listened to him. She nodded slowly as he continued. "Well the eldest must not be a very good hunter. And besides could he really bring him self to kill the brother he's been brought up with and taking care of for years? Certainly there's a-" Velia tried to think of the English word. She still needed work on her English some times. "Oh what is the English word legame tra fratelli"

Mathew smirks, "Blood is thicker than water is an appropriate phase, but as for a bond between brother..I feel a hunter would kill anyone for as long as they practice magic blessed to them. " He says plainly. I fear that young Julian will be discovered soon enough and the coven won't be able to protect him because he knows nothing of us. His brother has kept such things out of his life even when witches came out to the world." He explains lightly. "I fear that Julian will perish."

"I wish to avoid violence, isn't there away to keep the 'blood out of the water'?" Velia asked. "Once one dies the sharks will go into a frenzy, you know that." She said to him. "This is what I meant by peace never lasting among us, there will always be conflict." She said seriously. "And what happened to 'there aren't any hunters left' like you said either eh?" She asked him as she closed her eyes a bit.

Mathew frowns, "Well, until moments ago meeting Antonio I beleived it so, but now I have been opened to sometihng greater. I see there is hutners still existant and at work here in New Orleans, but I fear that there is nothign we cna do. If Julian's blood is spilt there is no harm and no foul done to our coven for the emre fact that he is not apart of our coven and he will simply be another dead kid ont eh streets. I'm sure eh would die a lot more passionate death at hsi brothers ahnds when he finds otu he does drugs. Damian is unpredictable and like myself has power of his own in manipulation. If ear there is nothing we cna do unless someone tell Julian who and what he is. I certainly won't touch that, mainly because I will keep my coven safe form harm. damian would hunt his brother to the ends of the earth if that is what it took to kill the warlock."

Velia shook her head, seemingly to have an idealized idea of what family was possessed to be since she missed out on that. "How did he learn to control his abilities without assistance? I could barely function before your mother took me in." Velia sighed. "But maybe that's just my abilities...she said she's never seen anyone else with him." She said making that sound like a bad thing, which it probably was.

Mathew smirks, "The sad thing is I fear he hasn't mastered his abilities and he will face death sooner than later." He explains. "Julian is a smart kid, but he will lose control one day and it will only be the perfect moment for his brother to be angry enough to kill him. I'm sure hunters are good at covering such things up. I means really look at how easy they ahve killed off so many they clean up one anothers messes and make it look like accidents. Witches and warlcoks normally cut themselves off form others and that makes it all too easy." He smriks dangerosuly. "I'm sure hsi rbother is working rather quickly now and it will be too late for Julian once he is revealed."

Velia shook her head leaning forward so her elbows rested on her knees and she could rub her temples. "That is totally shit." she grumbled a bit, "Total stupid shit." She grumbled more, mostly talking to her self more than Mathew now. "What do you get out of this exactly? how does this benefit you. I know you only get involved with something if you get a little something out of it."

Mathew rolls his eyes, "Did I not already say I'm not touching this one? I mean I'm thinking of my mother right now. I can't have time to work out the problems of a young warlock and his hunter brother. I mean honestly I find the concept to be ridiculous." He smirks lightly, "My dear, Velia...he says dnageorusly, You are a smart girl and I am a smart man, but who is smarter? That has yet to be determined. As you have clearly palced Julian in your mind and care extremely so for the well ebing of all witches and warlocks, but I am looking out for those who know what they are and do not lvie in fear form day to day if their pwoers will be kept in check. I know better than that and I know what needs to be done for the safety of the coven, not the safety of those outside of it. I have no intentions on saving Julian form hsi fate and I hope that you do nt either." He says it as if he didn't really care if she did as if he already knew the palns of the future.

"Oh you seem more involved than you let on." Velia said sitting up from his side so she could face him. "And I'm not a smart girl, I'm a smart woman."She corrected, not letting him call her a girl. "And I tend to look at the big picture, everything is interactively woven together when where people like you and I can not see." She told him corssing her arms a bit. "And did you not also already say I don't take sides. And here I thought you knew me, My Dear Mathew." She said back to him her blue-grey eyes narrowing at him.

Mathew simply smirks charmingly back almsot devious, "What part i play in things is none of your concern. But as of now I will not be interacting with that Julian kid. He is not worth my time." He stands abruptly, "Were I going to interact with any of that family it would be to end the conflict of the future and simply kill Julian myself leaivng his brother int eh dark and his away from our coven." he says plainly walking around his table past her. He picks up another large drink and sips on thsi one finally.
