My name is Sully, my url is shitnipples. My favorite book is Slaughter-House 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, and at the moment I'm at a dead end for what to read. (I know there are tons of books I want to read, but I can never seem to think of them when I'm at the library.) And, uhhhh, I can say with utter disgust that I used to be a Twilighter.
Hi! I'm Skyler (http://scrowgasm.tumblr.com/). My favorite book is American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I'm currently reading Wizard and Glass By Stephen King. It's the first book series I have read from him.Even though I have to work early in the morning, I have a hard time going to bed before midnight.
Hi my name is Julea URL girlnamedgoober.tumblr.com. I have a hard time picking a favorite book so I'll go with what I've read the most. The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Ray, A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby and Harry Potter. I should be starting Divergent but being a new mom I haven't gotten to it yet. I am also a sucker for cheesy and quick romances :-). Really looking forward to this book club.

Hi! I'm absurdly excited about a tumblr bookclub, for one. I'm Jennifer (picaresquity), and my favorite book might have to be...East of Eden, by Steinbeck. I'm about to start reading Those Angry Days: Roosevelt, Lindbergh, and America's Fight Over World War II, 1939-1941, by Lynne Olson, and I finished The Nasty Bits: Collected Varietal Cuts, Usable Trim, Scraps, and Bones, by Anthony Bourdain, yesterday.
Hi, I'm Kayzee. I sometimes post cupcake things on my one blog (http://heyytherecupcake.tumblr.com/) and feministy things on my other blog (http://heytherefeministcupcake.tumblr...). Some of my favorite books are Norwegian Wood, White Noise, White Oleander, and Geek Love. I'm finishing up The Hobbit and re-reading The Farthest-Away Mountain. Random fact about me is I have a tendency to buy books even though I have many books I've yet to read (I think the Japanese call this tsundoku). I sometimes do the same thing with DVDs.
Hi, I'm Lianna, liannalives on tumblr. This book club is going to be great! Favorite books are hard to choose, but I used to say it was Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, but now I can't choose between Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde, and The Postmortal by Drew Magary.I am currently reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.
Random fact: I may have recently purchased a cat kigurumi for the sole purpose of being able to curl up like a cat with a good book.
Hey, I'm Franca, http://pastcureiamnowreasonispastcare... (mostly collecting quotes and photos I like). Some of the books that have meant a lot to me are Jane Eyre, The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde and The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt.I'm currently reading The Fault in our Stars.
Random fact: I love remembering lines from a favourite poem when they just happen to match a situation, feeling etc.
Also, I'm kinda curious what everyone here does outside of reading. Not meaning to be nosy, if anyone cares to share just go ahead :)
To start it off: I'm a medical student from Germany (so please be a little patient with my English…)
Hi! I'm Allie (diagonallie.tumblr.com). I love to read anything at all, but I really have enjoyed Harry Potter, neuroscience books, and just something that will surprise me in the end. Currently I am reading two books: The Brain That Changes Itself, a novel about neuroscience (it's actually a great read), and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Random fact: I am studying to get my Master's Degree in Art Therapy in the US.
I can't wait to read some good books and have great discussions and such!
Hi, I'm Christine (tzusanna). I made myself a Goodreads goal of 100 books this year and thought this would be a fun way to work towards that. My favorite book is Jane Eyre and I'm currently reading Knife of Dreams by Robert Jordan. I'm a huge fan of fantasy/sci-fi, mystery and travel essays.Hmm, a random fact...um, well, I think I like unicorns way more than a grown woman should. :)

Hi, I'm Jasmine &/or (Mihoriel). I'm currently reading Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett and afterwards, I'll read the next Tiffany Aching book. My goal is 50 books and I'm interested in joining more community events, whether online or in person, in order to meet the goal. My favorite book changes from time to time. Something that makes me think or inspires me.
When not reading, I'm studying. I'm applying to ABSN programs in IL in order to become an RN.
Hello! You can call me E (scarlettsentimentalist.tumblr.com). I don't have a favorite book (yet!), but I tend to flock to emotional contemporary fiction. I'm currently reading Teacher Man, Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality, and A Storm of Swords. I work in the hospitality industry, although my dream is to create things with awesome people.
Random fact: I hate coffee and ketchup, and instead indulge in tea and hot sauce.
I'm Daphne, love-strudel. My favorite book is Dog Years (I also love Mark Doty's poetry, but this book is just wonderful to me), and I'm currently (a little embarrassingly) getting through the Sookie Stackhouse novels because I've been a True Blood fan for years and have never read them. They're not my cup of tea, but I feel like making the effort. I enjoy very long baths with too-expensive bubble bath gel and not-expensive-enough wine.

Hi I'm Kim (http://turnthepagebeloved.tumblr.com/)My favourite books at the moment are probably Jayne Eyre and Matilda, although I have a lot more and they change regularly depending on my mood. I'm currently reading about three hundred books (rough guess) but a few off the top of my head are A Game of Thrones (re-read), The Martian by Andy Weir; Oedipis Rex by Sophocles and You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense by Bukowski.
Something random: I have three pugs (Reginald, Mopsi and Neville) as well as a baby on the way. I'm a glutton for cute punishment.
I'm Brittany (http://just-likeasunset.tumblr.com/). I am currently reading The Painted Table, The God of Small Things, and The Weight of a Human Heart and am about to also read a book of polish poems (with polish & english translations) so that should be interesting. I recently finished In the Shadow of the Banyan by Vaddey Ratner.
My reading is all over the place - and I currently work at a library, so that is doing wonders for discovering new authors (or, new to me authors).
Nathan wrote: "Hey sweeties! I'm Nathan (nathanielstuart). My favourite fiction book has to be Stranger in a Strange Land and my favourite non-fiction is a wash between Fingerprints of the Gods and The Ego Tunnel..."

And enjoy scaring the hell and (either literal or metaphorical)piss out of people. And I'm trying to go back to working at Disney. Outside of reading, I'm a cosmetologist/banker, and I otherwise mostly like to hang out with my dog and watch Netflix documentaries with hiking and day trip adventures on the weekends.

Hello! I'm Rebecca (rebeccas) and ohmygoodness I have to pick a favorite book? Right now it's probably a toss up between Divergent and His Majesty's Dragon but those aren't set in stone. I'm currently in the middle of John Dies at the End (enjoying it immensely! it's like Stephen King meets Douglas Adams meets H.P. Lovecraft. kinda.) and look forward to reading its sequel, This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It. I'll probably jump in to reading and (hopefully) discussing in April, but wanted to join now before I forgot
I'm currently going to school for a degree in photography and work part-time at a pretty awesome job providing mobile entertainment for events (I get paid to play video games and laser tag!)
When not working or at school, I'm usually at home hanging out with my sister and my dog and/or on tumblr.
Random facts:
- This is my first 'official' book club! Yay! Hopefully this will help force me out of my comfort zone regarding people and discussions and books.

- I love puns and wordplay. Really.
Hi! I'm Caroline. On Tumblr I'm fleetwoodmacsexpants and occasionally ladyofwinterhell (usually during Game of Thrones season). My favorite books are The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami and A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. I'm currently reading about 12 things, but focusing mostly on Insurgent and A Clash of Kings. -My primary hobbies are knitting and playing World of Warcraft (not at the same time)
-I've watched the entire series of Parks and Rec at least five times.
-I am pursuing a PhD in Film and Television Studies, but I've recently been sidelined by several rejections.
EDIT: I didn't add that I work full time as a ticket office assistant. Which is draining and not much fun, but it's something to earn some money until I can get into the PhD thing.
Caroline wrote: "Random Facts:-My primary hobbies are knitting and playing World of Warcraft (not at the same time)"
I would have been SUPER impressed if you did them at the same time. I'm a knitter and I've dabbled in gaming, so it's still cool. But maybe that'd be a skill to work on?

Current fic reading: S by JJ Abrams et al. A nice book as an object to look at, but bloody horrid to read. Awkward structure, horribly bad writing. Just, no. Regretful purchase.

Kimber wrote: "Justin wrote: "Random fact: where I live was colder than Mars when I woke up. "HI! Do you live on Hoth?"
I WISH. If I lived on Hoth, I would have tauntauns to crawl inside.
JUSTIN, if you don't mind: I'm currently helping my English-professor-father develop his modern world literature class, and he asked me for help describing Murakami as a contemporary Japanese author, since he's my all-time favorite writer. More specifically, what makes him stand out, and what characterizes his writing style. I had some ideas, but I'd love to hear yours as another Murakami fan!

I just started working a month ago after being unemployed for over a year. I worked for a bank for 4 years before that. (They got bought out.) I really want to read more books this year and I can't wait to get started.

Random fact: As a kid I swore I was a mermaid and was just waiting for the day my tail would appear so I can swim away. As an adult I still swear I'm a mermaid at times.

I'm Kimber, obv. My favorite book is Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. I'm about to start The Book of Jonah: A Novel by Joshua Max Feldman. And, um, even though I've created my dream reading nook, I almost always just read in bed after turning myself into a blanket burrito.
