Love the show! I recently re-watched it and read the season 8 comics. Can't wait to start with season 9!

The comics become a huge unexplored world of Buffy. I started with the Season 8 comics a few years back, and have now expanded into the Angel series, Spike's series, Willow has a separate story arch called "Wonderland", and Angel & Faith. They are able to do a lot with the story that they were unable to do in a TV series: better monsters, more places to explore, more adult themes. Great stuff.
Loved this show when I was a teen and I still love it when I rewatch. I own the entire series on DVD but I am hoping it gets an updated transfer to blu ray. Sadly the first few seasons look awful because it wasn't upgraded when it was put onto DVD but I enjoy it anyway. I started season 8 in the comics and really like how it was done. It's a great way to catch up with the characters and they can do some things that production wise they wouldn't have been able to on the show. I can't wait to finish it and start season 9.

I'm still trying to get through the 7th season so I could understand what's going on in the comics that take place after the 7th season.
I love the show, though there were a few storylines that bugged me. I can definitely see it transferring well to comic format, since my other pet peeve was creature design. Still, it's one of my favorites!

I rewatched it this summer and now I want to start to read ALL the comics related to the Buffyverse, but it's a madness! So if anyone could help me, sharing a reading order or some kind of guide I would appreciate it and love that person forever!
It's been a few years since I re-watched this show. I think I'll watch some of it again over Christmas (ever since I was stuck inside for 2 weeks due to a huge ice storm a few years ago, and ended up watching Buffy the ENTIRE time, I equate ice and cold with Buffy). And as the above commenter said, I want to read all of the comics (I have read part of season 8, but none of the others) but there are so many off-shoots of the series now I'm not totally certain in which order to read them! Especially if you include all of the Angel comics into the mix.
Dark Horse has put them in Omnibuses (Omnibi?), based on season, I think. You should be able to find those collections - I would think they include everything that's been put out. I think they have Angel and Spike Omnibuses, too.

I've been re-watching the series, and reading the comics that are interspersed with the episodes.
The Buffy wiki has a great chronology that lists all the episodes as well as the comic stories and shows the exact order they go in. It's been a huge help in trying to figure out how to read them in the order they happened, basically spoiler-free. You can find it here.
(Though reading some of the summaries will end up spoiling a few details...)
My favorite show of ALL TIME! Best characters, amazing story arcs, great cast and supporting characters. MUST LOVE BUNNIES!!!! :) I miss this show every fraking DAY!!! :)
I have only gotten through the first few seasons but I am loving it so far. Super excited to get through the whole series and can't believe I waited so long. Characters are great, story is great, development is great. It's genuinely just awesome.
I tried reading the comics at the end of last summer, but I was so confused. It had been too long since I had seen the show. I'm currently rewatching the entire series. Both Buffy and Angel in publication order. This is taking forever since I also want to, ya know, watch stuff I haven't seen before and read stuff I haven't read before. I have high hopes for finishing sometime this year and picking up season 8 again. :)
I've been watching it ever since I was a little girl. I would wake up at 5:00 am so that I could watch it before school. I was 6 years old and I would pretend to be Buffy the vampire slayer. I wanted to be just like her, fighting the bad guys, being smart non conformist and also sexy. I understood that just because you were beautiful didn't mean you couldn't kick ass or be smarter than everyone else. Or just because you were misunderstood and bullied doesn't mean you weren't important to the world. That's how I took it then :)
I still rewatch it at times. It's funny it's interesting but as much as I love it I dislike the end.

For me, I personally enjoyed it! I loved the way that Sarah Michelle Gellar portrayed Buffy and I loved the character growth going throughout the show.
