This book is set in the 80's. How much did that impact the characters and their actions? For instance, if Park and Eleanor had email, it would be a whole different story. Would they even have gotten together, do you think?

Would Eleanor have access to the internet/email -- or even a cell phone? I don't think so. Park probably would. Maybe Eleanor would spend a lot more time at her public library... maybe that would have been her fake excuse instead of Tina's house. :) I do think they would have gotten together, though, despite these differences. I'd love to hear more thoughts on this!

I like the idea that Eleanor would have spent a lot of time at the library.
