Page (victriviaqueen) | 47 comments I was SO looking forward to seeing the film having finished the book just a couple of weeks earlier. What a giant disappointment the adaptation turned out to be.

The book was interesting in that it looks at the kind of expectations and fantasies we build around people we fall for without really knowing them. It's also a book about the bonds of friendship, about growing up, and it's a road trip to boot. Sounds like a great idea for a movie right?

Except the screenwriters gutted the emotion, changed motivations, and significantly altered the timeline of the third act for no good reason. I was physically angry when I left the theatre.

If you are curious about John Green's Paper Towns definitely read the book and skip the movie.
