As a default suggestion, I would like to remind everyone that the Lexington library "One Book, One Bluegrass" selection this year is "Ready Player One," by Ernest Cline. If you want to read a book others will probably have read, this is a good one, and plenty of copies should be available at the local libraries. [Also, the area libraries are holding a scavenger hunt inspired by the book(Apr,2014), if you want to get in on the fun.} The Edible Book contest is also going on this weekend at the local libraries. (Yes, I love my library. Lol.) Plenty to do while waiting for June 9th to roll around!
Here's an update on this year's get-together: the event is being rebranded as the "Book Buzz Summer Meetup." The format will be the same, and we already have several of our publishing friends lined up to talk about their upcoming titles.
This is one big change:
We are going to be really pushing this event this year as the official kick-off to our Adult Summer Reading program. To give us an accurate count of how many people will be attending and allow us to accomodate everyone, we are asking that you register in advance via our website at this link:

If you have any problems registering, just send a message to me and I'll take care of it for you.
Looking forward to the big event!

Thanks to everybody who made the "Book Buzz Summer Meetup" such a success! There were 47 people packed into Beaumont Branch's meeting room to hear about titles from our excellent presents: Eileen Becker (Random House), Brad Simpson (Random House), and Jason Sizemore (Apex). Everyone left with book bags, bookmarks, and stacks of free books courtesy of our publisher partners. What a great kickoff to Adult Summer Reading!
I enjoyed my first "meet-up". Both presenters shared interesting topics. I do wish the attendees had introduced themselves. I feel as if I "know" some of you but had no opportunity to see "who" was "who".
See you next time,
Ann
