Well i am done with Dust of dreams, i think this was the weakest book in whole series if Crippled god is something like this then it is going to ruin the whole series for me.Here is my review of series My review
All I can say is that we are at the halfway mark of what is really one book. I think next book will see a payoff.
I enjoyed Dust, it had some good parts to it, but it wasn't my favourite so far. Looking forward to getting to the end of the series, hoping I see lots of loose ends tied up.
I liked it a lot! And even when it first came out I read it as the first half of the final book. So the finale seems to be a war between the Bonehunters with their allies against the FA for TCG, one to free him, the other to use his power in the name of self-righteous justice.
Who are Grub and Sint, born from Icarium's warrens? Even more powerful before?
I found Kenebs death very sad.
Meanwhile where is Ganoes? It's been a long time since we heard from him, still on the other side of the world. Kruppe will probably not appear, he seems stationed in D, yet the elder War involves Kruppe. It's weird not being able to hate Olar completely. Because we do trust that Tavore is on the side. I hate Brys thinking ill of her.
I liked this one very much, and I'm probably rush right through to the end now. I loved the irony that Feather Witch is the one who ultimately saves the day, and that it's the Errant's eye that makes it all possible. My review is here:

I started with the reread when I was 6 books into the initial read on my own, but for reasons not discussed here had to drop off.I did have mixed feeling for DoD. Having said that I feel it moved the arc[s] along and sets us up for who-knows-what as a climatic tCG.
I must say, this is my least favorite book in the series so far. I couldn't care about any non-Malazan character and like Rob, I found it too slow overall. I'm hesitant to read The Crippled God now but Erikson does do endings well so hopefully it's not disappointing.
Here is my general ramble about DOD. Generally didn't like it but it had a strong start and finish. Might have a few days break and then into TCG :)https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Loved DOD. Through 9 books I'd put it 5th best. I find it odd people disliked this one so much. If not for the ending TtH would have been by far the weakest book for me. I think this is the most brutal book which is saying something. The hobbling, rape and Barghast atrocities. The T'lan Imass exterminating the Barghast. The short tails destroying the Bonehunters. So many characters who have been with us for so long gone. Ebron, Bottle, Keneb and others gone.
QB perhaps gone. If he's truly done with such little fanfare I'm pissed. Half of me thinks with all the Tayschrenn references that he pulled him through a void. Part of me thinks with all the Pale references it was the Bonehunters betrayal like Pale was for the Bridgeburners.
Then what about Brys, Lostara, Tavore........?
I saw the 5 T'Lan Imass unbound coming. WTF is TCG up to?
I'm doing the recommended order so it's OST next in March before I'll read TCG in April. It's going to kill me to wait but I can't do these back to back. I read GOTM and DHG back to back and felt so drained.
