Tasha Leigh (someonetookit) Can i just ask how this book has ANYTHING to do with urban fantasy. Also i thought authors were not supposed to self promote. The person who suggested this book on te 1st of March was in fact the author. Am i the only one with a problem with reading this?European Identity: The Death of National Era?

Tracy T. It looks like he went to a bunch of paranormal romance/urban fantasy/historical fiction books. I checked a handful of them and this and the Percy Jackson group seem to be the only groups he's added the book to.

Tasha Leigh (someonetookit) Its not that he has added the book, more that it has been chosen as this months book when it has nothing to do witht the whole theme of the group

Megan | 15 comments I suspect there was a blip somewhere. As far as I can tell from the poll, Night Broken by Patricia Briggs actually was voted in as the March BOM.

It wasn't chosen. He went to the group's bookshelf and added a book with the dates he wanted it read. Group members have access to add books to the group's bookshelf.

Ren | 2 comments If this book didn't receive the highest number of votes, but yet the author was able to circumvent the system and force his book to be named the winner, then not only did he self-promote but he also intentionally hacked the system. He should be barred from the system.

And by the way, another e-mail should go out to members with the *actual* March selection. It's snowing in Washington DC today, and I'd love a recommendation for a good book to read while I watch the white stuff fall. ;-)

Camille | 3 comments This book is very expensive, even in paperback format. And I can't get it from the library. Is there another choice for this month?

message 8: by Bill (new)

Bill (reedye) | 46 comments What are you lot reading???? It was NOT voted on. It was NOT available to vote on. It IS NOT chosen!!!

message 9: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Leigh (someonetookit) The reason why people are thinking this is the months book is because an email went out today, from urban fantasy, stating that it was this months book. And the urban fantasy page also says that it is in the this months book part with 'because of the current events in europe' as the reason why. Or at least it did earlier when i started this tread

Bill (reedye) | 46 comments Thanks Helen, didn't see the mail so very confused.
I only saw it was Briggs.

carol. I would encourage you all to flag or report. I'm not sure how often Michelle checks in, but this should be removed and reported.

message 12: by Camille (new)

Camille | 3 comments Thank you all. I really didn't want to complain as I didn't vote for any book this month. I have to agree is a rotten choice, not just because it doesn't fit our group profile but because of the cost and availability.

Leiah Cooper (leiahingolden) | 332 comments Why not just read Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs Night Broken? You know we are all going to anyway! Right?

message 14: by MadameZelda (new)

MadameZelda I passed on this book just by the title.

HuH? Whatever you say.... if you haven't read the series, well, I suppose.

Tracy T. The book has been removed.

I'm talking about the European Identity book that is the topic of this thread --not your book, LOL.
