Really enjoying this so far and I'm reading it quickly. So I look it up to see what reading level it is. And I faint! It's a 2.9 reading level. No wonder why I'm breezing through it. Ha ha ha. Will be back with my thoughts once I get to page 56.
So sad that one boy has all the love from home and the other one doesn't. Reminds me of my growing up. My dad was in Vietnam like the one dad. Makes me want to kiss my kids more.
Kind of familiar to me as a Hispanic American. I'm enjoying this I grew up a catholic agnostic as well. I'm no longer catholic. I hanged religion and am now Methodist. Much to my grandparents dismay. If I went into a church and took my shoes off I'd get a good whipping at least at that age.
When I mean I grew up catholic agnostic I only went to church as I was forced too. I didn't really believe until I found my own faith in the Methodist church.
