message 1: by Morgan (new)

Morgan The boardwalk down by the beach with arcades an rides.

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Elora strolled down the boardwalk, the cool air of the night hitting her face. The smell of the ocean brought back memories of beach trips with Camden. They hadn't been in a while...

message 3: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik stuck to the shadows as he stood on the too of the buildings closest to the boardwalk. He didnt like to show his face around earth but he enjoyed watching the ocean. It calmed his thoughts and made him worry less.

message 4: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 04:09PM) (new)

As Elora continued down the boardwalk, she thought she heard something. Spinning around she glanced around frantically. Her heart rate picked up and she felt her breathing quicken too. "Hello?" She said into the wind.

message 5: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik's eyes switched from the waves into a girl. She should t be out this late at night, it was dangerous. He crept closer towards the edge of the roof to get a closer look.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Listening to her surroundings, all she heard was the crashing waves and the wind. She calls out once more. "W-who's there?" She stutters, shaking slightly out of fear.

message 7: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik finally noticed that she was asking him. He slid off the building silently and stood on the board walk, still a distance away from the girl.

message 8: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 04:36AM) (new)

Elora's brown eyes widened as she saw a dark figure come into view. "Who are you? What do you want?" She said, clenching her hands into fists to stop them from shaking. She was prepared to bolt at any moment if she needed to. She knew she shouldn't have come out this late.

message 9: by Morgan (new)

Morgan "Uh- I'm Marrik." He said silently, but loud enough for her to hear him. He didnt really talk much, but I'm this case he had to because he didnt want the girl to leave. He was curious.

message 10: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 10:12AM) (new)

She heard a voice ring out through the frigid air. A boy. Definitely a boy. She thought to herself, now panicking. "What are you doing out here?" She asked taking a step back. Perhaps if it had been a girl she could have overpowered her, but unfortunately it wasn't. She still couldn't see what the figure looked like, but she didn't want to get any closer to him. She knew how to defend herself, but could she win if this Marrik guy decided to get violent?

message 11: by Morgan (new)

Morgan "I am not here to hurt you." He told her from the shadows. "I was only curious, nothing more and nothing less."

message 12: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 04:12PM) (new)

She took a few more steps back. "Oh yeah...well then why won't you come out of the dark?" She asks defensively. Her voice is shaking. She doesn't trust this guy at all. She continues backing away from him, not watching where she's going. Her eyes are locked on the shadowy figure, not on the edge of the boardwalk or the dark waters that lie just over the edge. She's not paying attention to how close she's getting...only him.

message 13: by Morgan (new)

Morgan "You won't like what you see." He said, not planing on coming out if the shadows any time soon but he did it for her sake. His feet fell silently across the wooden planks of the boardwalk as he stepped into the the, revealing his colorful bare chest, his dark tight pant, and his feathered head.

message 14: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 02:42PM) (new)

You won't like what you see. That's what he said to her. She stopped backtracking momentarily, her heart dropping at his words. Now she was very afraid, but all that changed when he stepped into the light. He was very...colorful. Her breathe caught as the light reflected off of his feathers. 'Ive never seen such beautiful colors before...' She thought to herself, but didn't dare to say. She was speechless, he really wasn't frightening at all to her...but that didn't mean she could trust him. She raised an eyebrow at him, "Cool feathers." She said taking that last step. She slipped right off the edge of the boardwalk, hitting her chin on the wooden planks before she experienced that free falling feeling.

message 15: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik wat her as the girl fell. There wasn't much he could do but he ran forward to catch her. He jumped off falling after her, his arms outstretched, reaching for her. He caught her in his arms as he landed on the ground gracefully. "Are you alright?" He asked her.

message 16: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 03:23PM) (new)

One minute she had been falling and the next she wasn't. She had closed her eyes expecting to hit the cold, dark water of the ocean. Instead, she heard a voice. Are you alright? At the sound of a voice she opened her eyes. She was in someone's arms, Marrik's arms in fact. "I think so...." She said answering his question. She looked up at his face and felt a sharp pain in her chin. She sucked in a breath as the pain seared through her jaw, drawing a hand up to her chin.

message 17: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik carried her to the edge of the board all and lifted her up and set get down, then climbed up himself. He stood up and held out his hand to hell her to her feet. "Are you sure?" He asked remembering that she had hit her chin.

message 18: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 03:48PM) (new)

Elora sways in Marrik's arms as he carries her to the end of the boardwalk. "Yeah... I don't think it's that bad-" she stops mid sentence. Pulling her hand away from her chin she could see her delicate fingers were laced with blood. Her brown eyes widened and she started breathing quickly. It was more blood than she thought it would be. She looks up to Marrick with frightened eyes, not sure what to do.

message 19: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik sighed at get franticness. "It's nothing." He told her quietly in his deep, mysterious, and calming voice. He reached into his side pack that rested gently on the side of his thigh and brought up a small cloth to wipe the blood away.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Elora sat quietly as he wiped away the blood. His little cloth turned scarlet as it touched her skin. It stung a little, but she distracted herself by looking up into the mysterious boys eyes. "I'm Elora, by the way." She says quietly, her pale skin glimmering in the white light of the moon.

message 21: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik nodded. He consintraited on cleaning her wound, and only that. When he finished wipping the blood away he set the cloth on the wooden planks and went back into he pouch to pull out a tube of cream and a bandage. He untwisted the tube and squirted a little onto her cut the placed the bandage on over it.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

When Marrik finishes, Elora's adrenaline starts to wear off and her skepticism begins to come back. Standing up, and crossing her arms she speaks to him. "So...what are you doing out here anyway?" She asks, the pain decreasing in her jaw to a dull throb.

message 23: by Morgan (new)

Morgan He ignored the question while he cleaned the cloth of her blood and put the tube back in his pack. Then Marrik finally looked up at get and said. "I come here often." He didnt speak much, especially not to new people. He liked it that way. He thought it was better for him because of the fact that the humans here thought he was just some hideous creature.

message 24: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 05:38PM) (new)

She watched Marrik's fluid and graceful movements as he put away his things. She had never seen anyone like him before. What had he meant that I wouldn't like what I would see? She thought to herself. He was very interesting. Most people deemed her a freak for being an Arrian, maybe that's why he'd said it..... "Yeah, me too." She says, still watching him in the studious way she always did when she was intrigued by something.

message 25: by Morgan (new)

Morgan "Yes." He nodded, his mysterious voice echoed across the cool breeze. "I like to come here to watch the waves crash into the shore and listen to the calming sound it makes." He wondered to himself why this girl hadnt left yet. No one ever just stands there and has a conversation with him. She hadnt even given him a dirty look like everyone else does when they pass him. She was different.

message 26: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 06:25PM) (new)

((Wow nice!! Love your last comment (: ))

Elora giggled. "No way! That's what I come here to do..." She exclaimed. "I come here when I just need to think..." She continues, gazing up at him with her brown eyes, quite unnatural for an Arrian like her.

message 27: by Morgan (new)

Morgan ((Awe thanks! Now that I actually have my homework done i can focus on my posts))

A deep chuckle escaped Marrik's lips but it sounded more like soft thunder coming out of his mouth. "I don't come here during the day though." He raised a corner of his lip in dismay. "There's too many people. It's hard to focus on the sounds and sights with everyone shouting and yelling at each other all at the same time."

message 28: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 26, 2014 03:42AM) (new)

"Yeah! It can get pretty loud during the day, but at night..." She breathes in deep before continuing, "it's just so...serene....well when you're not being attacked or anything like that..." She says with a smirk on her face. She looks up into his eyes noticing that the moonlight is glinting in them.

message 29: by Morgan (new)

Morgan "Yes, that's very true." He nodded in agreement. "Maybe one day that will change though, you never know. I like to hope for the best." G said and went over to the nearby bench to sit down on it.

((Black))

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

A smile tugged at the edges of Elora's red lipstick stained lips. Camden always said it contrasted well with her sharp features and pale complexion. She walked over to the bench where Marrik sat and sat next to him. Looking up at the feathers on his head, she lifted her delicate fingers stopping just before she brushed one. "Do you mind?" She asked gently, not wanting to be pushy, she was just so interested.

message 31: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik chuckled loudly, humored by her curiosity. "Go ahead." He shrugged. This was all new to him. No one had ever asked to touch his feathers before. He hated then, he thought they were just something that drew more attention to him and gave people another reason to make fun of him. Some days he would even try to pull them out but could only bare the pain long enough to only get one or two out.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

With his permission, she brushed her fingers against one of the feathers. They were so soft. She looked at them with eyes the size of the moon. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her again, but they were just so unique.... She couldn't help herself. "They're beautiful..." She says almost whispering.

message 33: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik watched get wide eyes as she felt his feather. "Thank you." He told her quietly because no one ever complimented him on his feathers, or anything, and that he didnt have to talk very loud because there was barely and space between them.

message 34: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 07:20PM) (new)

Elora felt the feathers for just a little bit longer, completely distracted by them. She found herself staring and turned away, her cheeks going pink. "Sorry..." She said, tucking a stray piece of her dirty blonde hair behind her ear.

message 35: by Morgan (new)

Morgan A slight frown fell upon Marrik's face when she stopped touching him. He liked the feeling and wanted to have it forever. He quickly hid his frown so she wouldn't see it. "You are fine." He said to her.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

"I should probably go..." She says, standing up to leave. "You know... It's not very safe for me to be out so late." She takes a few glances around, remembering the times she got attacked on the streets. She shivered at the thought of running into another mugger. She looks at Marrik, his dark eyes seemed to be full of life, not what one would expect. He was full of surprises and he made her smile.

message 37: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik stood up after her and listened to every word that fell out of her mouth. They replayed through is mind over and over like a catchy song on the radio that you can't get out of your head. "Do you want me to walk you back?" He asked, regretting that he didnt think before he said that, but he felt a strange need to protect her.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yes..." She said, letting her fear get the better of her. She began to walk down the boardwalk towards her home. She didn't live too far away but far enough to frighten her. She had been grabbed multiple times by people on the streets. She stayed quiet as they walked along the board walk, not wanting him to know how frightened she truly was. As they walked she kept turning at any every noise, practically jumping at every sound.

message 40: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik walked a few feet away from her, not knowin if she water him close or not but he didnt take any chances. He could tell she was scared by how she looked behind her every so often but he didnt say anything about it.

message 41: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 26, 2014 03:45AM) (new)

Elora stops dead in her tracks, tilting her head ever so slightly. "Did you hear that?" She asks in a hushed tone. She was sure she had heard something. She reached out for him, frightened. Her heart rate picked up and her breathing as well. And then she heard another clatter and she knew they weren't alone.

message 42: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik's eyes darted back and forth through the shadows for anything. He cocked his head slightly trying to listen. He heard foot steps coming from their left. He pushed behind him ad swiftly turned to face their approchers.

((I'm up for anything!!))

message 43: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 08:05PM) (new)

Elora felt Marrik push her behind him and now the footsteps were getting closer. She peeked out from around his shoulder to see three men running towards them, they break off, two heading straight for Marrik and one rounding off to the left. Elora ducks and screams when someone pulls her from behind him. Whoever it was had her arms constricted, squeezing her tight. She tried kicking a few times, but it wasn't working. He was squeezing her so tight she was having trouble breathing and that's when she felt the knife behind her back.

message 44: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik struggled against the two men as the constricted his arms to his sides. He wriggled his finger to his belt loop and pulled out a sharp dagger. He swiftly got out of the men's grip and incised one of them in the gut making him scream out in agony. Marrik roundhouse kicked the other one gracefully in the side, knocking the wind out of him. He used that opportunity to help Elora. He turned on his heels to see if she was injured.

message 45: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 25, 2014 08:18PM) (new)

Marrik had taken out the other two men but Elora had hardly even noticed. Black spots lined her vision as she was practically suffocating in the man's grip. Her head was lolling from the lack of oxygen. Her attacker lay her head against his shoulder and moved the knife from her back to her neck. She felt the cool metal of the knife and it made her shiver.

"Take one move and the girl gets it." The attacker didn't budge, he kept his grip on her strong, using her as leverage against Marrik.

message 46: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik looked at Elora. Her face was turning a deep red. She would lose consciousness any second. He had to do something, and quick, but the attacker would slice her neck if he approched them. "What do you want?" He asked, willing to bargain instead of someone else getting hurt.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Elora heard mumbling but nothing more. She felt herself slipping....
"I want all your money. Now." He said, pressing the knife closer to Elora's skin.
Suddenly, she went limp. The lack of oxygen was too much for her and she couldn't hold on any longer. She slipped a bit in the mans' arms, causing the knife to make a small cut on her neck. Seeing that the man couldn't hold her up and get what he wanted, he dropped her violently onto the ground and took off running.

message 48: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik cursed under his breath as the attacker ran away like a coward. He quickly knelt down next to Elora's limp body to see if she was okay. He first checked for a pulse. Finding that he moved onto the incise on he neck. He did the same routine he did on get chin and put his supplies away. He laid her out in a more comfortable position, being ever so careful as he touched her. Then he stepped back and waited for her to awake.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Elora woke moments later with a start. Gasping for air, she had never been more frightened. She felt hot tears streaming down her face as she sat up abruptly clutching her chest, her airways still feeling constricted. She breathed in and out as best as she could, feeling like her chest was on fire.

message 50: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Marrik kept a close eye on her while he waited for her to wake up and when she did he was already there beside her to help her if she needed it. He watched as she struggled for air, but there was nothin he could do about that so he stood there waiting for her to be alright.
