Halaena walked down the halls smiling, her hair still wet from swimming. Her towel was thrown over her arm and she was wearing bare feet. Honestly she looked rather relaxed for once, which was exactly what the swim was meant to do.'
Dante picked up a quick run towards the Selected girl's room. He was running late. As he neared the door, he saw the human body a tad too late and collided with it. They went toppling down and he turned so he cushioned the blow for the... girl. Oh no. It was the Selected girl that he was supposed to be meeting with as of two minutes ago. Why couldn't he make a normal entrance like a normal person? Was it honestly too much to ask for?
She landed on top of the person with a soft thud. Brushing her hair out of her face, she couldn't help but laugh. However, one she looked at the persons face and realized who it was, her laughing softened slightly, but didn't disappear. "My apologies, I did not see your approach."
"Oh no, please, it was all my fault for acting completely un-Prince-like by running inside the castle and just topping it all off by ramming into beautiful girls that I am supposed to be courting or whatever it is they call it. Just don't tell my Mum." he joked.
She smiled and rolled off him, landing on her back and standing up swiftly. Holding out a hand for him to stand up, she blushed slightly at his 'beautiful girls' compliment, as she supposed that applied to her. "Though you are a Prince, that doesn't mean you shouldn't act like your still a teenage guy who wants to be normal. Actually, that's the first thing I want to ask you about, if it would be OK that, when we are having one on one time getting to know each other, we might be able to put aside social standings and just act like friends? Oh, and I promise not a word about this to your mother." Halaena zipped her mouth and then ate the key smiling. It was a joke because obviously she couldn't eat the key if her lips were zipped.
"Sure, why not, Lovely? That seems like a simply stellar idea." he said and took a hold of her hand as he stood up without really using it. He didn't let go. "So, what does a lady such as yourself enjoy doing? It must be terribly awful for you to have to remain in the castle all the time and be forced to converse with the likes of me."
She laughed softly at being called Lovely. Noticing he hadn't let to of her hand, she opened her bedroom door with the other. "Oh yes, it is simply horrible. The food is dreadful, the library is boring and the pool is far to cold. As for the company, well, lets not go there" Her smile obviously showed she was joking. "On a more serious note, I really do find your home amazing. It truly is wonderful, as are you for being so kind as to say yes to my request." Pushing open her door, she looked thoughtful. "What do I like doing? I love the outdoors, and though the library is truely exquisite, I prefer reading outdoors, and well, as you can see, I enjoy swimming." Halaena held up a lock of hair amused as it dropped a little water onto the floor.
"A girl after my own heart!" he replied, laughing softly. He almost instantly regretted saying that. Given the current circumstances, that might not have been the most... appropriate thing to say. There were 35 girls 'after his heart' and 35 girls after the crown. He had to remember that.
She smiled at what he said and saw his expression. "Don't worry, you can be open with me. Well, as open as you feel comfortable with. I know that this must be hard for you, having to chose one girl out of 35. But you should know, I am here for you. Not for any other reason." Halaena laughed softly and looked away embarrassed at herself. "Sorry, I can be rather straight forward sometimes. My friends say I'm closed off around most people, yet apparently I 'don't pull any punches' when it comes to people I like and respect." Looking back at him, her blush still evident, she smiled warmly at him once more. "How about you? What do you like doing in your spare time?"

Dante grinned, "Thank goodness, I rather like girls who aren't afraid to pack a good punch." he said, "My mother and my cousins could vouch for that." Dante thought about her former question. "What do I like to do?" he mused, "Well, I'm afraid you'll find me rather boring. I like reading, horseback riding, hunting, and fighting." he replied.
She laughed and led him into her room. Pack a good punch, hmm, I thought I would get in trouble for doing that. Glad I won't, I can be myself around him then. "Hey, that makes me boring too. I like reading, and though I can't ride as well I would like to, it's enjoyable." Halaena threw her towel and it landed in the bathroom doorway. "Score!"
Dante grinned and started to say, "I can't help but wonder -" A guard, however, came up behind him and whispered something in his ear. A quick frown fell on Dante's lips, but he swiftly replaced it with a smile. "I'm afraid that I have to wrap it up here." he told her regretfully.
She turned around and frowned. "Already? But we have only been talking for less than five minutes." Her disappointment was obvious as she spoke but she smiled at him anyway. "I understand. I hope whatever situation you have to deal with is resolves swiftly." It was mind of obvious her smile was half hearted. Halaena was really starting to like Dante, so she hoped they could talk again soon. Maybe he would like some company as he walks wherever he has to go? No, I won't ask. "Will I see you again?"
Dante smiled, "I certainly hope so." he said. He reached over and took her and and brought it to his lips. "And the next time cannot come fast enough." He was praying that he wasn't being too bold. This girl was interesting and refreshing. At the same time, he still didn't know her. Her morals, her joys, her sorrows and troubles were all a mystery to him just as his were to her. But she definitely had something special.
She smiled for real at his words. He hoped so? I hope he means that. When he kissed her hand she blushed slightly. It was sweet. "I agree. The sooner, the better." Halaena wondered if that was to forward and laughed softly, tapping her lips in thought. "You know, I would like to ask you something before you leave. Shall I walk you out?" That wasn't the question, she was planning on asking it as he left.
Dante tilted his head, "Sure, why not?" He held out his arm for her to take. What harm could come from a walk?
Halaena accepted his arm with a smile. "Why thank you." She vaguely wondered if she should make herself look a little more compared considering her hair was still wet and lock like down her back, but she brushed it off. I'm in a dress, that's enough, right? Besides, I don't really won't to let to of his arm. Not yet anyway. Plus, if I did go to do my hair, her think I'm girly, which I'm not. "Lead the way. I do not know where you have to go, so yeah." Her laugh was soft and pleasant, something unusual to hear from herself.
Dante started walking and noticed several eyes peering at them. The servant's gossip was legendary. He cleared his throat and gave them a polite but pointed look, and they left. He didn't want this to be a game. This was the kingdom's future.
She noticed the looks and sighed softly, wondering maybe if she shouldn't be with him at the moment. "If you want me to, you know, let you walk alone I understand. You must hate all the peering looks, and if school gossip is anything to go by, the fact your walking down a hall with me is bound to be common knowledge by the time we reach your destination." Halaena laughed softly as she neared the end of her words. Maids were woman, and woman talked. Quite common knowledge.
"Halaena, it is my pleasure to walk with you." Dante said resolutely. Gossip was nothing new to him. As the Prince, he should be used to it by now. "So, what was it that you wanted to ask me?" he inquired.
She nodded at his words and smiled. "See, I kind of just hoped we could talk a little more as we walked. So really it's not a big question, just more a curiosity." Halaena hoped he wasn't to upset about her true reason for her words and laughed softly. "So I'm guilty. But, my question was, would you mind showing me some of your fighting skills? I know it's not a very lady like thing to ask, but it had always intrigued me."
Dante hooked his ankle behind hers and wrapped and arm around her before she could fall. "You don't have to be lady like. You just have to be you." he said in a soft voice as he lifted her back into a standing position. "I'd be hapy to show you whatever you'd like."
When she felt herself about to fall but he could her again she laughed softly. "Now see here, how often am I going to fall around you?" It was a small joke considering they had first met by literally falling on each other. Huh, I wonder if I will 'fall' in love with him. As he spoke in a soft voice, Halaena smiled and looked at him. "That would be wonderful. I'm glad you don't mind my tomboyishness."
"That remains to be seen." Dante replied, not missing the extreme irony. Falling was always associated with pain for him, but he couldn't help but wonder if falling didn't always have to hurt. "I don't mind it in the least bit. Your wish is my command." he grinned.
At his first words she smiled a little, wondering what his thoughts on falling really meant. She had many understandings of it, literal, metaphorical, etc. I hope I do fall in love with him actually, I like him already, so I can see it happening. "My wish is your command? Hmm. I could have fun with that." Halaena joked with him and gave him an innocent smile before she laughed. "Don't worry, I'm not mean. So what kind of fighting do you do? There are many types, correct?"
Dante threw his head back and laughed, really laughed, for the first time in a while. "I'm just going to chalk that up to my bad word choie and thank my lucky stars that there wasn't anyone to hear that." he said. "As for your second question, yes, there are many differents styles and types, but my father made me learn most of them."
Hearing him laugh for what seemed to be real, she smiled happily at him. "Yes, but see, I heard them. I'm going to keep that offer safe in my back pocket and pull it out for a rainy day." Halaena teased him. "Oh wait, I have no pockets. Looks like your off the hook." Her tone was mock annoyed and she laughed. As he said he knew most of them, she nodded with interest. "So you can pack a good punch in the literal term then?" She smiled at him, comparing him to her earlier explanation of her personality.
Dante just shook his head and gave a low chuckle at the first part. Unfortunately, he was brought back to reality. He was all too familiar with packing a punch. He hadn't always been a collected guy like he was now. In his earlier years, he'd gotten into some trouble that would have scandalized the royal family if the public found out about it.
Seeing his expression, she gave him an apologetic look. "Sorry, maybe that wasn't exactly the right thing to say. Maybe if I changed it to, so you can defend a girl like a knight in shining armor?" She hoped to smooth over her idiot words from previously and decided to change subject. "You like riding, does that mean you have a stables here?"
"It's not your fault." Dante said. "And yes, we do have a stable." He knew that right now he should plaster a huge, fake smile on his face, but he didn't feel like being fake. Not now. Not with her.
She wanted to cheer him up again so she wrapped her arm around his. "Do you have a horse? Like, one just for you?" Halaena had only ridden a few times, and never on her own horse. I mean, she lived in a city after all.
"I do, actually." he said, a smile gracing his lips. Dante stopped at a door and looked at Halaena. "Perhaps one day you can meet him. Regretfully, I must go now, but I am already anticipating our next meeting." he told her as he looked into her eyes.
Hearing he did have a horse and that it would be nice to meet him sometime, she nodded happy at the idea. "I would like that very much indeed." Halaena let go of his arm when they stopped and turned to look at him with a smile. Looking back into his eyes, her voice was softer than usual. "I am anticipating it also."
"Until next time then." he said and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before turning around and going into the room.
Halaena smiled and gently touched her cheek with her fingertips on the spot he kissed, walking back to her room in thought.

Room for:
Halaena West (18)
Halaena is a guarded person by nature, and doesn't share her thoughts to many people. Only her family and close friends know that on the inside she is incredibly warm and caring, who is always ready for a laugh, though happens to be freakishly smart. Ever since a young age, she has read everything she could get her hands on, and has a vast knowledge in most subjects. She doesn't treat a Six any different from a Two, as she believes everyone had the right to equal treatment. Though she doesn't show it, all she wants is to be normal, and not some freaky genius who can't stop her thoughts and who hears everything around her. Usually, she will be found in more quiet places, as she tried to block out all the noise and fight off her thoughts. However, she does enjoy the head on approach just as much, which is going out and partying with her friends.
Rosemary Allison Anderson (17)
Rosemary needs to keep her mouth shut sometimes. Seriously though. It's not like she talks much, but it's more like she needs to keep her anger in. Because Rosemary is fierce. She isn't afraid to speak up her mind when she doesn't agree on something, even with her employer. This has gotten her hurt several times. She knows it isn't good, but she cannot help it.
She cannot help it, because she doesn't think it's fair that the castes even exist. She knew that, as a girl from Seven, she barely had a chance to work up to a four, even a five. She doesn't think it's fair, and that is where her anger comes from.
But behind the anger and the constant frustration, Rosemary is a gentle soul. She loves to read and to paint. She has tried to make it in the painting business, but it's too hard for her, as a girl from Seven that worked herself up to Six by becoming a maid. Even though her life is hard, she is a girl who will always look past castes and won't judge anyone on their past. She is sweet and kind and will do anything for the ones she loves.
