The 26th Annual Lambda Awards were recently announced with several writers of color nominated in both the fiction and non-fiction categories. The Lammy's - as they are more familiarly known - celebrate achievement in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) writing for books published in 2013. Some of the nominees listed:

Fiction/Poetry:
Happiness, Like Water - Chinelo Okparanta
Mundo Cruel: Stories - Luis Negron (taut and powerful collection of stories)
The Rest of Us: Stories - Guy Mark Foster
How to Shake the Other Man - Derek Palacio
Unpeopled Eden - Rigoberto Gonzaalez

Non-Fiction:
Queer in Aztlan: Chicano Male Recollections of Consciousness and Coming Out - Adelaida R Del Castillo
