Erica Ebitz | 12 comments Divergent is about a future government where society is split up into five factions: Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Erudite (the intelligent), Amity (the kind), and Candor (the honest). At the age of 16, every person takes an aptitude test that is supposed to tell them which faction they are best fit for, and the next day they get to choose between the five. The book takes you through the journey of a girl who is divergent, meaning she doesn’t just fit in just one faction, she fits into more. She is told that being divergent is very dangerous, but she doesn’t understand why exactly. Throughout the story she finds out. Divergent is mostly science fiction with a perfect amount romance and adventure built in. Veronica Roth, the author, writes with vivid details, making it easy to paint a picture inside your head. She adds a perfect amount of thrill and keeps you guessing until the very end. Then, you’re still guessing to see what happens in the next book of the series called Insurgent.

Klarissa G | 12 comments You make this book sound really interesting and everyone has been talking about it lately, which makes me want to read it even more. Honestly, being the person I am, I would probably just watch the movie, but if the book is as good as people say then I might just read it. It makes me wonder how the book is going to end, and if the girl is going to go against the government/ society to try to change things since they try to rid of the "divergents".

Ayana P. | 13 comments I've always wanted to read this book and you make the book sound even more interesting that I kind of want to read it now. It makes me want to know which faction I would be in and what happened to the girl who was divergent. I think it's good the author writes in detailed that just makes the book even better. Also now the movie has come out you could relate it to the book.
